If you look at Nintendo's durability history you'll understand even more, their Game Boy device survived a BOMB a literal bomb couldn't destroy it! And it still functioned! Nintendo I would say is known for durability but their Nintendo Switch leaves much to be desired, joysticks break easily when being used normally for example

Gotta give the Deck credit; it only has joy con drift when you throw it in a dryer. The Switch gets it when literally using it for its intended purpose lol.

I'm assuming you don't have a steam deck, but how do you know that it wouldn't start drifting over time also? Maybe even sooner since it started before the switch in the dryer?

@@quadri136 If you're seriously implying that the Deck would potentially start drifting via NORMAL use just because it did so when thrown in a dryer, idk what to tell you. Also, it likely has less potential to drift because 1) The Switch is pretty much the only major platform out right now known to have this issue to the extent it does, 2) Valve has stated that they thourougly tested the sticks to try and eliminate potential issues such as drift as much as possible (showing they care more about build quality than Nintendo), 3) The analog sticks for the Deck are considered premium quality compared to the Switch's.

@@bukakkesteakhouse2077 I heard it's due to faulty build quality of the Switch where the material underneath the sticks grind and wear down upon usage. I've had mine for maybe 2 years at this point and never got drift, but then again I don't use the Switch a lot.

@@wylker24 joycon and the console are different parts. the console is nicknamed "Switch" and the controllers are nicknamed "Joy-Cons". So plainrock is right if the console didn't break at all.

As a Steam Deck owner, yeah. I get what you mean, at least this video can tell me how durable it is. Also, Phasmophobia is now supported on the Deck, so we really came a long way!

I would say both are very durable to take this kind of beating. It's 30X the beating you would do in real life. However Nintendo had more time on the market and is for a younger audience so it fared slightly better in some of them (note this is NOT a scientifically accurate durability test, but mostly for entertainment by a tad crazy KZbinr)

The switch can still dock ... The deck is just s big switch lite. If u use angle grinder u can cut of the joy cons. Make sure to cut at the right spot. Right by the screen maybe few mm away the bezel
