Haha, very tongue-in-cheek 🤣 I've lived in Worthing for nearly 3 years and it's just the right place for me, but I can see how people might find it boring. I'm in my mid-thirties and have had my fill of going out, going 'rah rah rah' until 3am; a nice, quiet seaside town is just the ticket these days. Trivia: It once featured in Men Behaving Badly back in about '99(ish)!

Ever seen a small silver Peugeot 107 (appreciate that their is so many in worthing as old people rule this town and don't need to use the back seats) Andy wasn't wrong when he said 'worthing is duller than a weekend in worthing' if you see people under the pension age and their in Worthing they are probably using it so people dont have to pay the hotel prices (we only live 45 mins away from brighton town (traffic) which is an advantage of worthing :) The advantage for myself living in worthing, considering i live close to the see (down sea place, end of the promenade facing right of an admiring view of the pier from Steyne gardens so say) i can get on my bike and cycle to Lancing and back (depending on wind MPH.) And going to Goodwood race track which i attend most events too seeing as i have membership. sorry for the long sentence (2 paragraphs :) also, have you seen worthing gran-nan style? hilarious!

Lived in Worthing for 52 yes & it's a fucking hideous place, it has diminished it's attractions & amenities over a long period, the Odeon cinema gone, the old Aquerena replaced by another boring pool when there was an opportunity for a fun pool (but hey your not allowed to have fun here in the conservative breading ground), & they built it on the old free paddling pool that children loved for so long.. & then there is the gateway to Worthing TEVILLE GATE which has been run down & eventually derelict since the early eighties & has at last been demolished by will now sit as an empty void until it is eventually & inevitably sold off for expensive apartments!!! Yes shit hole is very appropriate!

I didn't find much wrong with Worthing in five years living there. Do you really want the place you live to be crowded by tourists, being alive at 4am ruining your sleep, walking on the streets full on rubbish flying around in the wind cause drunk people throw away shit from take-away going from the long open club,...? I don't. Everything is close enough in the center so you can just walk (hate buses or moving 1mph in traffic jam), it's fairly clean (compared to other towns), enough of shops and close to the Brighton or even London, just 10 minutes or so and you can be running on the sea side or 20 minutes walk and you are out of town walking through nice nature. There is enough of pubs and restaurants if you wish. People who think you are boring one cause you don't mind living in town like this are actually boring as they don't create anything or improve in anything. They are just consuming what others created for them.

O you're so right; Worthing is and always will be a dump! and I'm no stranger just saying this, I lived there from 1973 to 1981 and both of my Grandparents lived there from the end of the war until they snuffed it. As a teen I had some fun there because there were a few decent pubs..Thieves..Wine lodge etc. I drove through it last summer with my Mum and a cold chill went up both of our spines...we left pretty quickly
