I didn’t vote for Trump but I’d vote for Johnson. And in retrospect I should have voted for McCain instead of Obama because I don’t think Putin would have invaded Crimea if McCain was president of the United States.
@excitedbox5705
@excitedbox5705 16 сағат бұрын
Keep in mind Obama was opposed by both parties for a large part of his presidency and I don't know how big the appetite would have been for Obama helping them during the financial crisis. I do agree McCain would have stood up to him more though, even if neither Bush or Clinton stood up to Russia when they invaded Georgia and Chechnya. Hell, even the Russian Afghan war was mostly just 1 Senator using his political capital to help them.
@cmw9876

A curious insight. I cannot refute this. I am now and was a supporter of Obama but his decisions about the limits of US military power were quite flawed. It did not seem so at the time but it sure does now.

As per the terms of the Budapest Memorandum, the U.S., the U.K., and Russia promised to respect Ukraine's territorial boundaries. Russia broke that agreement. It should have been incumbent upon the U.S. and the U.K. to step in, physically, to repell Russian attacks on the Ukrainian border.

As an American I'm wondering if congress passes a foreign aid bill for ukraine, if Ukraine would get the money despite Trump? Of course he could veto and congress may override it, but I think the money would have to be given to Ukraine and then they could buy weapons directly from companies. Hodges or Bolton would be great guests to answer this question/issue. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

British, French, Polish, Taiwanese, S.Korean, Japanese troops should ALL be defending Ukraine. What these countries need the most is combat experience and learned coordination between their armies, as we are entering an age of conflict and the best we can do is start gaining experience now, so that maybe we can dissuade the expanding bullies.

We all used to think the discovery of nuclear fusion and the weapons arising from it was the main reason that reduced the likely outcome of a major war and brought about peace among the main powers . Now we have a situation whereby the opposite is the truth because the fear of a nuclear war stops us from intervening.Russia would have been defeated by now if we were still in the 19th or 20th century

Wow. Basically, Boris wants to escalate to the point where UK can make as much money off Ukraine as possible and calls it ‘help’. Also, Sudetenland was granted to Germany as part of Munich agreement by U.K. and France (so much for Hitler’s playbook). Not sure where he stands on Brits fighting or not fighting Russians though.
