Not surprised you voted Tory because Corybin seems to have charisma and competence of a frustrated geography teacher, just surprised you are expecting change with a party that brought you in this situation. @@vikingofengland Did the residents of England get to vote on the 60 plus Countries who previously got rid of the colonial english parliament? No. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_that_have_gained_independence_from_the_United_Kingdom Ofcourse English Scots who are resident in Scotland can vote. We get two votes in Scottish elections. one for first past the post and one for proportional representation. Aye the thieving dictatorship 85% one country uk is finished. Scotland gets a block grant from westminster which they cannot overspend on. We raise approximately £70bn in tax - we get *around half back* to spend in Scotland’s Parliament. for example the 2019/20 Scottish government budget is £42.5Bn, look it up. We subsidise ukgov to the amount of £27.5Bn this year alone which Westminster spend 'on our behalf' and overspend by the value of our deficit. The first challenge we have with Independence is to spend the remainder wisely, Brexit Scotland Rejected , Torie English government Scotland rejected, Unelected House of Lords, trident, illegal wars etc etc etc. I think we can do better. i dont understand the scottish, i love them and love scotland, but i dont understand how they expect leaving the UK for the EU would make them any better off? you have the opportunity now to promote industry to setup in scotland as part of the new independent UK... if u keep fighting for a referendum thatll make investment in scotland less likely as it keep the air of uncertainty about scotland. also the reason we left the EU is because they repeatedly failed to listen to our concern with our lack of control, there not going to treat scotland any better, also whats the point getting independance to go and immediately shackle yourselves to the expensive sinking ship that is the EU, you need industry and investment! not the EU. maybe sum1 can explain these for me? i love scotland and i feel your being misguided in this :/ its a shame
@carraw3501

shadowbreed29 It may not have been as clear to you, but May and Johnson completely 'repeatedly failed to listen to our concern'. The concern was about Scotlands very different needs geographically and in EU trading. No one can possibly listen less to Scotland than what a Tory government has. We are a different country, not just a different name.

The first challenge we have with Independence is to spend the remainder wisely, Brexit we rejected, Unelected House of Lords, trident, illegal wars etc etc etc. I think we can do better. Thereafter, only with the powers of independence will have the levers to deal properly with our own economy - opportunities ! macalbasite.wordpress.com/2019/11/15/the-indisputable-thievery-of-the-uk-union/?fbclid=IwAR3SY4tokiuOIkF98UPWEB8wt71RLavQxbiQEB-WF5wH1Jkh0MoWk819huI in contrast, Scotland contribution to the EU is £455 million (based on a four year average). This represents roughly 0.6% of total expenditure digitalpublications.parliament.scot/ResearchBriefings/Report/2018/9/28/European-Union-funding-in-Scotland *'uk' 'union' costs Scotland 58 percent, Scotlands eu contribution 0.6percent* We'l have an inheritance of around 27.5 billion a year , of our own tax revenue, 'uk'gov currently take and spend on our 'behalf'. With independence, Scottish government budget will jump from 42.5 billion to around 70 billion. You know the heating for your house? petrol for your car? theodora.com/pipelines/united_kingdom_ireland_pipelines.jpg In 2018, the volume of oil and gas production in Scotland is estimated to have increased by 4.6% to 77.2 million tonnes of oil equivalent (mtoe), accounting for *82 per cent of the UK total* In 2018, the approximate sales value of oil and gas produced in Scotland is estimated to be £24.8 billion, an increase of 30.1% compared to 2017. There are *four* Scotland to England pipelines. Coldstream,Scotland to Leeds and Newcastle, England Bathgate, Scotland to Manchester and Bishop Auckland , England Scotland-Northern Ireland Pipeline, The pipeline was completed in 1996 this provides more than half of the power needs of the 600,000 customers. half the population in Northern Ireland from Moffat Scotland to Larne in Northern Ireland. Rep of Ireland state company Gas Networks Ireland has just completed a second interconnector between Moffat Scotland, to Gormanstown and loughshinny, Rep of Ireland.Completing the twinning of two interconnectors between Scotland and Ireland. Natural gas supplies around one third of Ireland’s energy needs, and is generates around 50 per cent of the electricity used there. It supplied 90 per cent of electricity in summer 2018 the technical capacity of the fully twinned gas interconnectors between Scotland and Ireland has increased from 31 million standard cubic meter per day to 35 million The EU contributed €33.7 million to the overall cost as deemed the pipe to be a “project of common interest”, www.irishtimes.com/business/energy-and-resources/gas-begins-flowing-through-100m-pipeline-linking-ireland-and-scotland-1.3736137 www.gasnetworks.ie/corporate/company/our-network/projects/projects-of-common-intere/cluden-to-brighouse-bay/

The reasons you have stated to leave the EU are in fact all good reasons for Scotland the leave the UK. Brexit will bring uncertainty anyway, so why would certainty be a reason to stay in the UK when there is none? The sensible option would be to retain market arrangements with the larger trading bloc, and the EU is substantially larger than a UK market that will weaken post Brexit. You say the EU does not listen to the UK. How so, when the UK voted in support of 95+% of EU legislation, and the disagreements centred upon the UK objecting to tax avoidance being made more difficult. Contrast with Scotland, who have been subjected to tory governments repeatedly becuase England voted them in where Scotland is fundamentally anti Tory. During the referedum campaign the Scots were told that staying in the UK was the only way to stay in the EU (and therefore retain access to the markets and other rights and benefits of EU membership). Many will feel betrayed now that this has not been the case. They were told that they were equal partners in the UK, but have since been utterly and completely ignored and disrespected, with the 63% remain support only being represented by the SNP. Scotland is not politically aligned with England. But it is with the EU, becuase most other EU member states also don't want to leave that organisation. Brexit is an English and Welsh decision. Not a Scottish one. The Scots have a different media. They are not generally speaking obsessed with immigration, or with blaming the EU for home grown problems. The question is, why on earth would the want to the stay in the UK?
