I met Boris in Philly after their show and asked them if they wanted to have Sushi with my friend and I, they were very polite. They looked at each other and were like "hmm, could do," but they were on a tight schedule and said "some other time." Fucking love this band.

they walk around the towns they play in quite often, it happened in lawrence, I ran into wata but I didn't realize what was going on because I was incredibly tired, she was walking with someone else (idk who it was, it was some other lady, tour manager maybe?) anyways after the show they signed autographs and I turned up and she recognized me from earlier, atsuo is cool as shit and loves hanging out with people so it seemed legitimate that they might have actually wanted to hang out but really couldn't. Wata smiled at me and it was bizarre

There is a beer called boris, and my landlord is called boris. All I have to do is be drinking said beer when listening to above music when aforementioned landlord comes a calling and the trifecta will be completed. Now perhaps if I was watching Rocky and Bullwinkle, with Boris Badinoff at the same time...whoa...

i totally thought the lead part was a keyboard till i saw them play it live and its guitar!! great sound
@noiselessfox76182 жыл бұрын
I know this comment comes twelve years late - but i wanted you to know that this guitar wata is playing is a Casio DG20 Digital Guitar and this pretty much is a Casio-Keyboard that is shaped as a guitar with "fake strings" operating the Keyboardy sound of the device. So this is why it sounds so much like a Keyboard.
@ NukeMTV: Firstly, this song is NOT sludge or drone. The thing you have to realize w/ Boris is that you never know what you're gonna get. They change genres all the time and are really experimental. Sometimes they do drone, sometimes they do psychedelic rock, sometimes they do hardcore punk, etc. They never stay in one style, the combine styles and even then they never stick to the boundaries of styles. So I'm sure you'd like something by them. Just gotta listen to some more of their material.

@Geisttanzer Actually it can be called either fuzz OR distortion. They are the same thing. Boss have a distortion pedal which I use on my bass. They are sometimes called fuzz boxes as well. Now if you are talking about overdrive then that is a different matter because it does just more than distorts.

@miique12 жыл бұрын
@OrpheusIsThe1 They are different things. There's some confusion between overdrive, distortion and fuzz because many manufacturers will just name their pedals with whatever name they think will sell . To put it simple: A distortion pedal achieves the effect by either overdriving an op amp, or using clipping diodes across the signal path. A fuzz circuit typically cascades a couple of transistors, resulting in an extremely high gain circuit.
@miique12 жыл бұрын
@OrpheusIsThe1 The difference is the clipping, a fuzz has a much harsher clipping than distortion, turning the signal in something more similar to a squarewave. Just because they work similarly they're not the same, just like reverb and delay aren't the same thing.
@HankFries13 жыл бұрын
Boris I think you are a great band. Uncompromising and unique. Pay no attention to the Debbie Gibson fans who comment here and display their mainstream tastes. Continue touring the world and ripping preconceptions to shreds with conviction and complete abandon.

@OrpheusIsThe112 жыл бұрын
@Geisttanzer OK cool, I see your point about the difference between Fuzz and Distortion but I can't see how anyone can get delay and reverb confused as they are two totally different FX

The ideal, he seems quite uneasy Is almost crying, and he just sits there He's got a pair of dark, innocent eyes "So tell me." The lies quivers together. "Tell me, don't shy away." Scared "Tell me." The lies squeeze each other, very tightly This is like a prayer, I thought, till the night came Bring it down, you've got the blade in your left hand. Don't hesitate Trying to or not trying to terminate, he has some tears in his eyes Caught off-guard, his eyes give somewhat dismayed look With the innocence deep inside Look, it's so wistful. Why, why do you blame me? The melody penetrates his chest, and stops him crying The melody penetrates his chest, and makes him pray It drives him insane, oh he still has those innocent eyes It makes him pray "How does it feel to be driven insane?" He still has it in the chest, it seems Somehow he feels it's inside of himself The Satan might have given him nowhere to go It's sticking into his chest, and it's the Satan

...Boris is the most mindblowingly awesome band I have ever heard, and they've revolutionized the way I think about music several times over with their records. Korn is a nu-metal band that to me in comparison is about as interesting and revolutionizing as pop. If korn even tried to be a slim glimpse of as awesome as Boris is, they'd probably hit the world like a storm due to their already established commercial success. So, my good sir, what the fuck are you talking about?
@OliverCarson16 жыл бұрын
Is that Wata rockimg the casio dg-20?
@motorik611 жыл бұрын
What are you talking about? Boris don't sound like Korn. Nor do they attempt to. If this happens to sound like a song of theirs then it is merely a coincidence. Boris are so eclectic the chances of such a thing happening is possible. However comparing them to Korn is just wrong. They offer far more depth and variety than Korn.
It's pretty much impossible to tell. I just read their equipment list somewhere. Rics are the sickest looking guitars though.
