@@papatango5085 and the military are not people? The Russian army is not voluntary. People are drafted into the war. And everyone had a friend, a neighbor, a brother, a son who went to war. And even if you weren't personally affected, what kind of scum do you have to be to not give a damn about people dying? During the Chechen war, people lived in constant fear because the Chechens regularly carried out terrorist attacks - blowing up houses, planes, subways, buses, taking schools, hospitals, and even entire cities as hostages. Budyonovsk, Beslan, Nord-Ost. Or they simply kidnapped people for ransom. Everyone has seen the numerous recordings circulating of them cutting the heads off the hostages. The 90's is the worst time in Russia since World War II. Yeltsin is the most hated ruler, cursed by his people. A guard is constantly on duty near his monument in his hometown, protecting it from grateful residents who have repeatedly tried to vandalize it.
