The few scenes he had with one of his leading mob capos go to show how truly sidelined and isolated Junior was from the family after Season 1. From Seasons 2 to 5, we mostly just see him attending court proceedings or in that atrociously dated house he is legally confined to, only occasionally getting him out of the house/courtroom for burials, wakes, and conferences with his lawyer, Mel. The final season shows Junior withering away from Alzheimer's in the depression state psychiatric institution he was dumped in after "accidentally" shooting his caretaker nephew, Bobby, Janice, AJ (for malevolent reasons), Uncle Pat, and, finally, Tony being the only friends and family shown to visit him in his sad, final years. What a miserable and tragic life the writers wrote for Junior!
