After countless tries to pitch the original Soul Drums to match this version i've come to the conclusion that this is an different recording. My guess is it's Soul Drums on Bernard Purdie's Jazz Groove Sessions In Tokyo, the last track on the vinyl version of that album

Props to both, during this battle Born's style looks so much different than what it used to be. I agree that his old stuff flows way better. The blow ups, I'm kind of tired seeing that as well but hey it's the man's signature move wait until he creates a new one then.

IMO vero's sets have more power and style in them whereas born has more footwork and style with a bit of power, and i guess most ppl likes seeing power over footwork especially when you do something like that crazy hat routine vero busted out but i gotta say props to born for keepin it fresh

@Aminder7 Oh and lol. Better foundation. That's more then obvious. Vero uses his foundation as support for his sets. Born uses his foundation as his sets. If you judge this then yes, Vero won, he actually destroyed the beat but did Born actually try? 1:38 he gives up. 2:41 short style set with his flag thrown in just for cheers. Its pretty clear he didn't.

born's first set was groovy though. obviously he didnt show technique like vero did for this entire battle, but his style was there(maybe not the best for a battle called match one skill). regarding him joining mzk and making all his sets short and choking on the end for most of them, what you guys all say about that, i agree. but shoot, that just makes him a true freestyler and yes, im pretty sure hes still one of the best beat killers

It's obvious Vero wanted it more and that's why Born got smoked. Skill level only goes so far, it just becomes a matter of how hungry you are. If there was a hook at the end of the line worth it for both bboys I'm pretty sure the battle would've been epic.

Born was awesome, but I have to say, I think Vero has more variety in his power , which gives him a bit more balance and an edge on Born. Not saying that Born doesn't have dope moves, just that I don't think he took Vero seriously, and by the time he did, it was already too late.Both are dope Bboys, but Vero has this round, and imo he deserves it.

@Aminder7 Lets clearify. You don't judge which Bboy is better by one match. This isn't a card game, there is no definite "better". Especially in a exhibition match. You said Vero is the better "overall" Bboy you could not be more wrong. As for Born's flag it wasn't always his signature move. It was a headspin sidechair grab. Even though he's done flag for years its one of the most unique combos out there. Bboys arely have something so special. His Footwork? B1 and Footwork Challenge Winner.

its obvious that born lost THIS battle. I've always liked Vero but I gotta say the boy is improving by the minute it seems. I love born, but he just didn't bring the rawness that he normally does. But you can't discount any top level bboy over just one battle they all have off days...but being born, there should be any excuses made for him...ppl EXPECT him to go hard all the time. And I have to agree as of late...he seems to be simmering down a bit. Props to both tho! Vero is the real deal.
