I know it's a rather popular meme, but... Shouldn't manga authors be *embarrassed* by now by *always* using Truck-kun to send people to another world. I mean... The first 10,000 times it was okay, I guess. But after a certain point it becomes not just predictable, but laughably old and tired! Does Truck-kun ever get a vacation or a chance to retire? 😅

Actually, I recall reading a manga some time ago in which MC manages to narrowly avoid Truck-kun - only for Truck-kun to make several more attempts to kill him, with MC avoiding it several times, until noticing that there was no driver behind the wheel and until finally being run over. It was more like a horror story.

The anime "Isekai Shikkaku" plays with the trope. MC is a super-depressed author trying to commit double suicide with his girlfriend in 1948. But before they can, they get run over by a truck. Finding himself in another world, an elf priestess tells him that it was the Other World Selection Truck. Many people in his old world are sad, but only those struck by the truck get to redo their lives in this world. It's a world transfer service they provide. If the truck comes for you, it proves you were unhappy.
