For me as a newbie Remant 2 solo (who never played Souls or Souls like), the Handler seemed to be the best pick. The reason is that the dog acts as a partner and does quite a bit of damage to all enemies in your vicinity, notifies you of their presence and direction, and helping a ton at getting kills, and when you have failed to use your health booster he comes over and revives you and does this consistently using one of your Relic heal boosters (you get 3 every time you start out from a red crystal base. I get the free subgun from Fords chest, and purchase the BlackMaw ak47 equip it with the fire ring and Hot shot mod both purchasable at the beginning, after I got a little more scrap I got the Healing shot mod and put that on the SMG and the Hotshot on the Blackmaw and could heal up (with SMG) anytime every couple of minutes without using the Relic (unless the dog used it when I was down). Survivability combined with damage was my only interest and this set up along with better experience has made me survive almost constantly. The other weapon I purchased ASAP was the Iron Greatsword for 1K scrap (melee) doing 115 damage and it blazed thru multiple enemies closely grouped, (lower level) with 2 hits and saved ammo (using ammo for longer range enemies or fire damaging the higher level enemies). I watched a guy using the Medic but actually the handler seemed much better than the ability to put a healing circle on the ground. And...once you get to level 10 you can go into any other class and transfer that to your main character and have handler your secondary character if wished.

Good info. My biggest tip for beginners is too use the fact that (I believe) the level of each world/zone/boss area locks as soon as you enter, and the level is based on your archetype levels and gear levels. So if you are having trouble with a boss (such as Nightweaver) don't be afraid to try her once, then if unsuccessful, go grind up some scrap and materials in other zones or adventure mode, upgrade your gear a few levels, then come back to the boss that was giving you trouble and it will feel a lot easier.

If you do a 100 flops reggie will sell the leto amulet which is also pretty nice if you're running ultra encumberance, you can do the 100 flops in the ward just keep track of it a little since nothing pops up when u do unlock it. (I've spend 2 hours flopping not realizing I already did it cause I was waiting for a popup 😂)

I find Handler much better than Challenger. The dog is a good decoy and people say it gets in the way but I've never had that issue. Handler/Medic got me through Apocalypse.

i cheesed my way through apocalypse with alchemist/medic. super easy to keep you alive plus the damage bonus from the 2 class is all damage, i tanked my way through the final boss.

Still being useful 7 months later. I went from really liking the game, albeit full of stress and an absolute slog playing hunter to the NightCrawler (got owned by her), not even knowing I was playing a glass cannon and getting punished for even 1 mistake to loving it using this guide. I will go back to hunter later cos I didnt even know this was a class that is very unforgiving and probably best played with some experience behind me.

here myself, started off with Hunted :D on Veteran, but the challenge was good, now figuring best way to level up all archetypes, using Finger scary lv10 weapon and lv 19 pistor you get from lamp in beginning. Not sure what other weapon I should use as I started Nightmare and struggle with DPS I think, well, but also in the process leveling other acehtypes

Apparently if you belly flop a hundred times the game gifts you an amulet. Don't exactly remember what it does but if I had to guess probably helps increase the amount of weight you can carry or something

Just finished a survivor playthrough without leveling any weapons to see how much scaling affects difficulty, was an absolute breeze, could even do the lv 13 final boss at lv 7 no problem (granted having 150 hrs experience on other saves helped a little), but my ultimate beginner tipp would be: Do not level weapons on 1st playthrough, I know it is tempting, but don't do it. It's an absolute noob trap that will do nothing but make the game harder. Learn the basics and farm the stuff you want while the game is still easy.

Get gud then farm survivor in adventure mode. Don’t rob yourself of the challenge or you’ll be stuck playing survivor/veteran forever.

Spend all that time in Labyrinth, and not pick up the simple to get Enigma? Even after the nerf, it's still a beast. Find the portal to the left of where you enter that changes locations, enter the one that has the lines of light like you're going ludicrous speed, enter and kill the mini boss. Bam, still one of the best handguns in the game.

Don't you only get one prime perk once you pick your starting class you can only have that prime perk, is that correct? or do you get other classes prime perk if you switch them to be the primary class instead of the one you started off with?

You get the prime perk of the archetype you have as your primary archetype at the time. It changes when you switch archetypes

haven't seen any videos mentioned is you have loadouts!🤓 Click in on your leftstick hovering over your stats and you will get a load out menu that saves you so much time! I really like the game but there is just way too much stuff they don't explain for new players...🤔🤕
