भारत मे टाइल्स पहले 1970 में बड़े शहरों जैसे मुँबई, दिल्ली में आया। बंगलो के बाथरूम में भी लगते थे। कुछ 70 की फिल्मो में बाथरूम के सीन में टाइल्स दिखते थे। पर मिडिल क्लास साल 2000 के बाद अपने नए मकानों में बाथरूम और किचेन, कमरे में फ्लोर टाइल्स लगवाने लगे। टाइल्स ने अब मोजैक फर्श, मार्बल फर्श को out of fashion बना दिया।
