Borneo From Above Episode 13 - Lundu

The main river in Lundu is called Batang Kayan or “The Kayan River”, but there is no evidence that any of the Kayan people ever lived there. In the mid 18th century, it was told that a group of Bidayuh people who lived near Bau migrated and settled on the west bank of the Batang Kayan. Today, the area is called Kampong Stunggang Melayu and the people are called the Dayak Lundu. It is said that the last member of the tribe died in the 1960s, but you can still see the grove of durian trees they planted.
