@@AlabamaisnotmyrealnameI believe weather you use a top coat or blooming gel, the item that is giving the effect is the brush. You can just use it alone if anything 😊

​@@AlabamaisnotmyrealnameI just use glossy topcoat for it. Base gel works too, but leaves the sticky layer behind and then you'd have to topcoat it anyway. I would do base coat if I were planning on adding any painted design or gemstones, once the ombre was done. Hope that helps.

What were you using on the blue ombre one?? In the next to last clip..What came instantly in my mind was a bobby pin & piece of cotton square..cause that's what I have on hand that's similar to it

I don't recommend a cotton square, only because it leaves lint and specks of fur in the gel polish. Once you cure it, it doesn't look clean, at all. I just use pieces of makeup sponge. I take either scotch tape or dual forms (sticky side), dab the sponge on it lightly, making sure it removes any lint or stuff that would transfer then into my nail art.

I did the same thing though. 😂 I mostly just use the ombre brush used in the last one, but when I do sponge ombre, I always have something around that I can dab the sponge on, like a lint roller. Nothing like spending hours on a set, have them look good and then end up with specks and blobs cured into the gel.

Yes, you have to cure it so it remains in place. If you don't cure it before putting on topcoat, it'll ruin your design. Working with gel polish, you have to cure in between each layer you make. Once you've got the design and nail the way you want, fully cure it. Once done, topcoat and fully cure for the last time and voila, you're good to go. Make sure any gels used are fully cured, always. Otherwise it can cause allergic reaction, and believe me, it is not pleasant.

​@@Shes_kiayou always have to cure your gel before topcoating it. Unless you want a messy design and to ruin your topcoat. If you don't cure before topcoat, the gel mixes into the topcoat. You cure your designs multiple times, especially for more intricate designs. But once you've fully cured the nail and are finished, then you topcoat and do a final full cure. Not curing gels can cause allergic reactions and they are horrible.
