Just what I was looking for! Excellent, simple, Direct, and to the point. No unnecessary talking or giving me a lot of choices as a beginner to make when I don't even know what I'm doing lol!

I really like the way it was done. I love the stitching. Simple, but it looks like a piece of art when you're done. I love it. I do quilting of all styles . But I really like the simplicity of it, but the placement of the fabric can make a really different piece, and like I said, a piece of Art. Thank you so much for sharing. Really enjoyed it.😊

Wow Vistra, I know I am a year late coming across you...but your video brought me to tears (good tears)!!! It brought back so many memories of my child hood and learning how to sew, patch up quilts and even making quilts. This learning and making was with my Mother, Grandmother and even my Father!!! And this is one of the many techniques they showed me (did not know it was Japanese), but this was the first seeing it. Beautiful Work you did!! And you are the first one I actually seen use it, And just the way I was taught from start to finish!! Sorry I did not mean to make a BIG DEAL of this. But you touched my heart!!!!!!! Thank You and Thank You For Sharing!!!

Thank you for your kind words. My grandmother taught me to quilt by hand. It wasn’t this style but it was patchwork from cloth we could find. The binding was like this but we pieced the fabric together first. Thank you for sharing with me. ❤️

This was a beautiful introduction. I agree with others - very relaxing atmosphere and your hands are beautiful! I have subscribed. I would like to see you continue with this method. How would you make a larger project? Make a large muslin piece the finished size you want? Collect small ones with or without the individual borders? So many fun ideas. Thank you!

As soon as you put your last piece of fabric on, I knew that had to be it. Perfect in every way. You have a beautiful voice for teaching. Your whole set up is fantastic. Able to see all of your hand stitching. Loving the size of your project. I would love to make it in a placemat size. Do you think that it would stand up to washing machines used on delicate? I may just have to try it out. I would like to make placemats for Christmas gifts. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful story about you and your grandmother. Makes it more special to me and others. God's blessings over you and yours.

The fabrics were easy to work with and this project was small enough that I didn't over do it with different odd color fabrics. I washed the finished project on a regular washing cycle and it held up.
