I bought one a few years ago. It's a sturdy little machine. Excellent for small batch of bread because it kneads more efficiently than other planetary mixers. Can whip one egg white to meringue. Whips cream as a big one. Cakes, cookies, breads, bring 'em in, it'll do the job.

Informative Alain Lavoie, would you please tell me, if I want it to knead 300 g of flour for a couple of rolls, would it work with the dough hook.
@16Alain2 жыл бұрын
@@lindamartin6238 as I think rolls dough needs to be kneaded so I'd go with the hook

I have a Assistent (Ank) that stays on the counter for big jobs. I bought the Compact a month ago for smaller tasks and have done cookies, batter, whipped cream, bread and rolls. Do not underestimate this mixer, it may look like a toy but you'll be surprised! When I'm done it folds up and goes in a drawer. Beats the smaller KA's easily.

Merry Christmas Amy. That little mixer is a Titan. Don't underestimate the size. I've seen that mixer in action. Can't wait for you to put it through the Amy Mixer Test. By the way, "P" is not for pulse. It's to position the beater to "park" so it can lift out of the bowl during mixing. Happy Holidays.
@HotVoodooWitch5 жыл бұрын
Hey, I OWN one. A little tank and perfect for a 1 - 3-person household that wants to make bread, in addition to the usual mixer functions. My Compact is a discontinued model that actually DOES have a pulse function; the mixer automatically parks when you turn it off (but not if you pull the plug).

I can’t wait to see you put it to the test. It is reasonably priced, and I might be interested.

Amy! I enjoy watching your love of stand mixers 😊 I have a kitchenaid artisan that I bought maybe five or six years ago from a friend. Sadly and disappointed in it because after making a batch of wheat bread I killed the motor. With kitchenaid I love do non traditional things like shredding chicken, mashed potatoes etc. But if you want to make bread I think it’s crap. Having said that I still am hanging on to it..to see if it’s worth fixing. In the meanwhile I did buy the Bosch compact and I love it. The weight and size are perfect for me..and the best is the motor is powerful than the kitchenaid. I didn’t have the money to spend on a brand new machine but for the price I would have paid to buy a refurbished kitchen aid I got a brand new Bosch compact! Can’t wait for you to try!

It doesn’t look or as strong or as solid as kenwood for mixing a dough .they saved on material quality I guess to make it more accessible budget wise .your right it’s a compact mixer in all sense for light and daily use .personally I don’t have space or money to spend on two mixers .i am very happy with my Kenwood . Thank you Amy

Dev, No, the Ank can do it all, small and large. Weighs about 20 pounds vs 6 for the Compact. Also the Ank will run $700 vs the Compact at $159 (sale price recently). Then there is the learning curve for the Ank but Breadbreckers has some great videos. I love both machines!

Hi Amy. Would you recommend this Bosch over something like the KA Artisan 100 year anniversary mixer (currently selling at seasonal discounts) for someone who primarily wants to make small batch bread, biscuits and cookies?

Sorry for jumping in but YES. This handles dough a LOT better than a KA.

Good score! Don't knead past 2 and if it starts walking, add a little water. I have a discontinued 450 W model with a S/S bowl; I found other 450 W models used on eBay and bought one each for a friend and a cousin. They LOVE them; my friend kneads bread dough in it every week for his family and I think my cousin is more comfortable with it than with the Ankarsrum I bought her. I had to work REALLY hard to convince her that this was superior to her KitchenAid; as soon as she tried it, the KA got boxed up and shipped to her younger son (who thinks the sun rises and sets on KA). You're going to have a lot of fun with this--I also use the dough hook for PITA-to-mix things like spinach dip--think outside the box!

$160.00 in American is not a bad price, compared to something like a Kitechenaid.

AND it'll hold up to use better than a KA. I saw my doctor last week and we got on the subject of mixers. She told me that her sister had just burned out her second KA. I told her to look into a Compact (probably too small for her needs) and an Ankarsrum.
