Excellent demonstration! It only left me with these questions: 1~ How much? 2~ Is it available in the USA yet? 3~ Who sells it? 4~ Does it have a riving knife?

Great demonstration, quick question wide can the parallel guide go. Whats the widest cut you can do with it.

Thank you mikrandar!! I wonder when this saw will be introduced in the USA!
@TRUE_GR1T12 жыл бұрын
for the guide rail they should have also made spots for strong magnets that would go on the opposite side of whatever you are cutting

I do wish this Bosch saw were available here in the US. The Bosch / Mafell rails make them the only system worth owning. I had to go with the much more expensive Mafell.

Hi any news when cordless version is coming? All competitors have released cordless can’t wait because I have plenty of batteries and rails
@alanholtham112 жыл бұрын
Hi, Sorry, I am not familiar with the USA market, you would have to check with a dealer over there. The only question I can answer is that it doesn't have a riving knife. Cheers.

So...you have reviewed The Bosch and The Mafell..which in your opinion is the best...or which one would you buy ??
@MatteNoob9 жыл бұрын
Just bought this saw, kind of bummed out I didn't get the Mafell which is superior, but at least I got one which is better than Festool, LOL!
@PornobrillenAli8 жыл бұрын
In fact this saw is manufactured by Mafell.
@goodall1bay9 жыл бұрын
This looks too much like a scaled back design based on the Mafell mt55cc ' which surely is no bad thing and the same for the rails, which are without a doubt, the best design out there
@Golgafrinchamdent8 жыл бұрын
Absolutely correct. The rails are the only reason I went with the much more expensive Mafell system over Festool. Unfortunately Bosch is not available here in the US.

Only bad thing the rails allow the saw to till out at mitre cut. Have to be careful when doing extreme angles

it's a shame they aren't selling it in the U.S. Bosch, please make this available in the U.S.!

I went ahead and bought a Festool saw. Love it.
@JorgeChavez-xm2ew10 жыл бұрын
Do you have one? Cause if they're selling them in Europe only I would think the voltage would not be rated for U.S. use. Or you would have to buy a converter.
@JorgeChavez-xm2ew10 жыл бұрын
That's strange because i contacted Bosch and they told me it wasn't. i would have bought one but a friend had a Festool saw and i was hooked.

That tool its in metric scale. Not imperial. Maybe for USA its another code number/ model

Would have been nice to demonstrate the quality of the cuts. After all, that is the only real reason to own one.

Question........ Is this better than the Makita SP6000J2...?! I think the Makita is approx £100 cheaper aswell...?
@AtifHasanReflections12 жыл бұрын
Hey Alan, you got me confused between your last demo of Makita SP6000 and this Bosch GKT55GCE. I was about to buy Makita when i saw this demo. Please suggest which one is your personal choice ?? I need to make a decision quickly.

Hello, nice presentation, I have a question. Is that rail system compatible with the Mafell saws? Thank you!!
@APRIL28629 жыл бұрын
The only main difference I see between the Bosch and the Makita, the Makita can be locked into the guide rail when cutting 45 degrees, preventing tip over. I still like the Makita better!
@Golgafrinchamdent8 жыл бұрын
Yup, that's a nifty little goshwhanger they forgot.
@ThekiBoran6 жыл бұрын
April Mae I have the Makita cordless track saw. It's excellent, but unlike the Bosch and Festool the Makita doesn't have a quick release depth stop. For example, in 3/4" material, for super clean cuts on all 4 sides of a cut, I do a scoring cut/pass then drop the blade depth in literally 1/4 of a second, (no screwing needed) to change it to do a full depth cut. Circular saw, Festool, Makita, Bosch, if you do the shallowest possible scoring cut first you will have zero tearout on all 4 sides of a cut. With Festool and Bosch those depth changes can be made almost instantaneously. I still think highly of my Makita track saw, it just takes longer to change the depth of cut. If you're doing a lot of narrow rip cuts the Festool and Bosch saves a ton of time.

Bosch should make the Anti Kickback accessory free and included with the saw. I had a kickback and destroyed my 1600mm guide rail. Other than that, it's a great saw. I just wish they had built in anti kickback like some competing saws, or at the very least include the darn anti kickback afterthought - i mean, accessory - gratis with the saw.
@skillwoodchippy201710 жыл бұрын
Bosch copied the rail system directly from Mafell,in fact I ve been told at the tool store,that bosch saws are manufactured in a Mafell factory.I own both,but the Mafell is the best than all the rest.
@wrightwoodwork10 жыл бұрын
My understanding is mafell makes the rails Evan the bosch rails in return bosch makes the batteries for there cordless saws. Mafell is in a different league to other power tools and is also in a different price range

8:06, the slim design blade guard, allows you tight cuts to an edge. aahhh! is that the reason why they didn´t show how tight you can cut to the wall? because it will about 30mm or so? tight means tight, and not lose! this saw would be perfect if: 1.) it had a riving knife, 2.) a flat blade guard for tight wall cuts,
@sebastiaanstoffels75657 жыл бұрын
3.) Anti-Kickback included standard with the saw.

The Festool _saws_ are very nice. But their rails are not very good. The Mafell/Bosch rails self align when joined with no worry about being straight & true.
