Quick video detailing the process on setting the air metering unit plate height and central location so it moves freely up and down within coming into contact with the air meter body
Very simple but vitally important for these systems to function correctly.

I wrap a sheet of paper around the disc, push it down to the bottom and then tighten the bolt. I was shown this way 25 years ago and it works first time every time. Love the content by the way.

@MarcuzzLundli get a piece of ordinary paper than goes around the plate, cut it so it doesn't over lap Then have the plate sat at rest position with the paper around it then secure the centre nut, remove the paper This should then allow the plate to lift up and push down without contacting the cone body

For the first time in 5 years of "ownership of my Audi 80 Cab,,with the inline 5 cylinder NG engine with Bosh KE-lll jetronic ,,,I found a video of how to set the Airplate in "default" value,, ,, it maby solve my problem with starting my engine ,,,after it have sitting during winter time,,and I had demounted end remounted intake manifolds in order to replace the oilseal on the valve stem ,,,,THANK U Grey Goose. for a informative video ,,,,, Greetings from Norway

Hey man i have a scirocco mk2 16v with this air plate… i have the 1 variant that you showed which has a yellow sticker on it… but on the sticker the air plate is set at an angle? I did what you did… im asking do you know how is it setup in the book? Does it have to be at an angle? Thanks!

@@GreyGooseRestorations no not the position od the sticker the position of the air plate shuld be at an angle? Or in the book its like somting about 1.9mm and 2.1mm?

Ah ok, the plate should be horizontal and level in the bottom cylindrical section. The 1.9mm is the distance down from the upper section of that cylindrical section to the top of the air plate

Air plate on my 9a engine is bend and I can not get it straight. Where can I get a new one? Or do you know which cars share same air plate?

They are all 80 mm diameter plates across all various cars with 4 cylinder engines, you should be able to bend it straight as they are quite flexible

Hello. Is there an initial setting for the air flap arm, as it changes with adjustment of the co mixture screw?… I assume, so therefore can affect where the main fuel pin will sit at rest? I’m having issues with idle co and pick up on 16v golf. Thanks

once the air plate is set correctly then the CO adjusts the height of the smaller arm but doesn't have any effect on the rest point of the air plate

Can you show the sensor plate adjustment for mercedes k jet on the m110 engine. It is a little different with the sensor plate pulling down. thx

My plate got siezed up I had to free it of its working ok now I need to prime the injector system how long do I lift the plate up with ignition on to prime up the fuel to injectors

You don't really need to prime it but lift the plate halfway up which should send sufficient fuel out to clear the air out if the injector lines

@@GreyGooseRestorations thanks for advice my cold start 5th injector is not working I have swapped it over ..but now I have no feed to the valve when putting a multimeter across the connector

@stevehunt3847 check continuity from the 5th injector black wire to the starter motor pin and check the green wire from 5th injector to the large thermotime switch under the coolant housing on the side of the head, the 5th injector earth's through the thermotime switch

Last question I have a loose black wire behind the battery tray. .it has a white connection on it it runs along side the battery any ideas what it could be.

I have read somewhere that gap between the plate and the edge should be 1.9mm. You think that is too much?

99% of the ones i set up are put at around 1 mm give or take a bit, 1 the 1.9 mm is a ball park figure as with most measurements listed 👍

Have a problem. When turn key on pump does not run. Lift flap and it runs. Changed thermo switch. No difference. Any ideas. Please

Good day need some advice. My kjet system runs very rich at cold start up afr 9.5 for about 10 minutes. Adjusted control pressure to 3 bar at operating temp. After a brief stop engine off about 5 minutes and start up again afr 10 for 5 min goes to 14 afr. My wur is modified as per your videos and cleaned. any ideas?

Is your 5th injector and/or wiring ok Do you have good voltage to the WUR Is the WUR resistance within spec Was the control pressure set with the vacuum pipe connected and engine running

The wur measures 21 ohm. No vacuum connected and i dont have a 5th injector. The wur gets 13.5volts running.

Ok, ideally you need to set control pressure with the vaccuum connected CO % should be around 2 % at idle or 13.6-13.8 AFR

If i do not run vacuum to the wur will it cause this issue? My wur vacuum diapragm is gone and will need replacement unfortunately not available in south africa

Ah ok, then the control pressure should be lower for example 3.6 bar with vaccuum would be around 2.6-2.8 bar with no vaccuum. However that would make things richer Have you monitored the control pressure at cold untill its warmed up?
