Now in regards of the performance I think it does quite well. I'd take the user times (runs 3-4 w/o the weight) as a more realistic scenario and that would put it up on par with the Flex which is quite good. IMO, adding weight to just one end can screw up times because each recip saw has different weight distribution. The ones that feel more nose heavy may benefit from added weight but if it weights more towards the battery you'll need way more weight towards that blade to get a faster cut,

I have owned the old 2 spd brushed model CRS180B for a few years and it pretty much has the same quick insert and eject blade system and nice variable trigger and pivoting shoe of this new one. No tool-less depth adjustment for the show is quite strange but no LED in 2023, really? I think Bosch missed an opportunity to improve on the 10yr old model I own. Yes it's got a brushless motor, rafter hook and orbital mode but seriously they have a 6-7yr old one handed brushed recip saw with an LED so they definitely know how to put one in. I was about to buy that one (GSA18V-083) but I wanted pivoting shoe and a better stroke length for quicker cuts. I think I'll save my money and the old one until it wears off

Your videos on these saws are really great! Would be nice to see the bigger and older brother of this one, the Bosch GSA 18v-125(32 in europe). Would you consider doing some thick metal cutting as well with the saws perhaps? Just to maybe show different strengths and weaknesses

Thanks. If i find one i can try to get a review on it, but unfortunately the only person I know in the bosch lineup is already transitioning away. There should be a thick metal cutting video going out this week. Cheers!

I swear I started with DeWalt in the 90's messed around with Makita that white 18v kit years ago want to Ridgid want right to Bosch happy with my overall durability but I have may not be the fastest in the bunch or the strongest but it will get a lot done and that profacter hammer drill is most definitely a beast

I would like this tested on metal the shorter slower strokes...I'm guessing it would rank top against metal.

Please consider testing the low end ryobi and craftsman recips. For a homeowner those are often sufficient.

20:25 that's nuts!!! The 8ah had better performance than the 12ah??? Has that every happened with any other Profactor tool before?

not yet. but on impact wrenches the 12 offers no performance gain over the 8, only runtime.

I was trying to decide between the Bosch Profactor 110 vs Makita XRJ05. I didnt see the XRJ05 in your rankings, but its lighter with longer stroke and higher SPM than the XRJ07 or the Bosch. I wonder where it would rank? The Bosch should have more torque so "user mode" might win but I like the XRJ05 for light, weight and tool-less shoe adjustment. Thoughts?

Happy to see Bosch is finally getting their shit together. Dumped them and Metabo a few years back for Makita LXT and then mostly dumped Makita for Hilti due to XGT transition frustrations.

No LED or adjustable foot is a MASSIVE oversight by bosch. It pains me because think most of their tools are brilliant and reliable but wowzers. I'll keep my brushed Milwaukee sawzall running for now.

Can’t think of a reason why they would not put a light on this saw? They did the same on their 7 1/4 circular saw. No light. Just boggles my mind Bosch either sucks, or is absolutely awesome.

The lack of LED is a HUGE downfall imo. Also, I'd be worried about the durability of that knuckle. It reminds me of the systems used on cheap Jigsaws that just don't stay closed after a while.

That's not a deal-breaker for me my first cordless reciprocating saw was a DeWalt 18 v got it in 1999 as a kit that might be a deciding factor for a lot of people if you're just using it to demo things that's perfectly fine as it stands

Strange that this saw is essentially a downgrade over the previous model, which has 1.25" stroke length, LED and adjustable shoe. But it was quite a bit more expensive so...

The 12Ah being worse than the 8Ah makes zero sense. They're the same cells inside, but the 12Ah has an additional row, so the internal resistance is lower. There's no additional limiting voodoo going on in these Profactors. So something's off with the 12Ah
