Boscha 2.0! New GoWesty Engine for a Vanagon

Boscha, our 1987 VW Vanagon was due for a heart transplant. She had been running her original but rebuilt engine. GoWesty Campers, who has supported us from the very beginning, reached out to us offering us a new engine because they knew ours was on our way out. Our hearts are full and we are overwhelmed by the love and support we received. This video is a little tour of Boscha's upgrades.

The commitment that the crew at @GoWesty have for keeping these older buses on the road and in top working order is just legendary. As someone in Australia who's owned one of these for the last 23yrs and over half a million kms so far, I'm a regular customer, ordering spares + little improvement kits. I love the way that they keep innovating and introducing little tweak kits to enhance the reliability and function of what is already a great, reliable + versatile bus. Great to have a chance to see under + inside Boscha to get an idea of how much GoWesty have just supported you in your #vanlife journeying. I get my 76 bay window back in 3 weeks from a ground up restoration. My wife and I 64/62 get to start the second half or our lives, exploring America in our van. Indeed, Gowesty provided probably $15K of work & parts. Unknown how long these Vanagons can be maintained, but I am grateful for your efforts in living alternatively and Gowesty's efforts to keep the dream alive. Humans need to actively pursue alternatives to the current way we live. cheers!

It was a sad day for me when GoWesty quit repairing and modifying customers' Vanagons. Shops that know Vanagons as well as GoWesty are scarce. I should have had my 1986 Vanagon Syncro modified to get rid of the VC before the firm switched to selling restored vehicles only. If I lived near GoWesty, I'd work there for free just to learn how to care and feed Vanagons. I am pleased to see that Lucas and company support fine young people like Corey and Emily. Long may you run trouble free, Emily, Corey, Penny Rose, and Boscha!
