I use the outside pouch for my cable. It makes it slightly awkward to cary around, but it stays in. I have never worried about it falling out. And if I set it down, I have to put the case face down (the pouch side up).

Yeah the pocket is rather tight, so if i place it deeper in the pouch i wouldn't be worried about it falling out.

i fold the cable into quarters put a rubber band a round and it fits well

Just don't wrap as tight as you have around your fingers, do it lose around the fat part of your hand

Sorry I have to give this a thumbs down. If you wrap the cord in loops around your hand and lay it on top it fits like a glove and I'd rather have the extra battery
