Bose Smart Soundbar 600 Vs Sonos Beam Gen 2 Vs Sony HT-A3000

I got the Bose 600 and Sonos Beam Gen 2 and ended up keeping the Sonos. BTW this is my first Sonos speaker as I’ve always been using Bose products. My take is that the Sonos has definitely more Bass than the Bose. Bose has more of a mid boomy bass but Sonos hits the spot at times with some clear lower frequency than the Bose. Also the Dolby Atmos experience is significantly better that the Bose 600. Not sure how as I expected the Bose to have a better performance with the upward firing speakers but frankly it did not make a difference to me. Bose app is quite inconsistent when compared to the Sonos one. Moreover Bose gets really sharp when you crank up and the bass gets reduced to avoid distortion. Sonos works seamlessly with my Bravia and Apple TV unlike the Bose. I truly encourage you to test them and decide for yourself and take this review with a grain of salt. And lastly the Sonos has a beautiful sound signature for listening to music. The sound quality is certainly desirable with the added convenience of airplay that’s almost glitch free.

I’m getting opposite opinions about atmos- that the Bose 600 upward firing speakers help with atmos compared to beam 2. So confused !

Fun fact about the Bose: The sub-out (3.5 mm) port on the back can be used with (some) other manufacturers' sub-woofers, not just the Bose bass modules. I have my Polk PSW108 connected to it, works flawlessly, including the Bose app being able to control the level.

@@ericwallace1452 Hi Eric - I don't but looking at it, I see they are using a simulated Atmos effect for the vertical sound effects. I will say I have a Vizio Atmos soundbar that uses a similar technique and it's a noticeable difference in sound stage compared to the up-firing speakers Bose has added to the top of the 600 - as in it's much more pronounced with the Bose soundbar. So, with my limited experience, a sound bar with true vertical firing speakers makes a difference compared to those models using psychoacoustic techniques. However, I know some manufacturers do a better job of this than others, I guess I would just research what reviewers are saying about Klipsch's capabilities with the vertical effect. Of course, if that vertical effect isn't a big deal to you, I would say the fight between the two is competitive. It appears the Klipsch comes with a 10" sub, so it would clearly win the Bass competition. ;) Good luck.

@@ryancolorado thanks for your help. I figured ill give them both a try. Especially because every room is different. I have the bose 600 now and am not too impressed with the vertical presence. Which makes me really consider if I would miss the upward firing speakers if I switch to the klipsch. It also lacks the true suround sound feeling without rear speakers (that is obvious and I knew going in I would need those rears...). With that being said the rear speakers from bose are $400+ where as the klipsch sells the same thing but for $200. With that and the included bass all I would be missing is upward firing speakers. Which I noted, I do not feel do a good enough job in my room to be a deciding factor. I will be returning the bose for the klipsch 800 bar and surrounds. If I feel as if I am missing the upward firing speakers I could always switch back. It is a hassle but with the limited physical locations for testing in my area it is the only option. It is also worth mentioning that I am mainly watching stuff directly from my smart tv with built in fire tv. Not a blu-ray player or playstation. Ultimately not allowing me to always take advantage of having a dedicated upward firing speaker in the first place. This is a good example of where an upmixed vs native atmos might be beneficial. Lastly I am very new to all things sound. So if you or anyone else wants to give me advice going forward it is certainly appreciated. THANKS AGAIN!😁

Are you using an adaptor to connect it? My system is old and I have a sub that uses a subwoofer RCA type cable to connect to a receiver. Sadly after about 15 years my receiver has seen better days so i purchased a Bose 600 and it should be coming in next week. I bought a 3.5mm to RCA adaptor to try and connect my sub to it. Hopefully it works

I have SVS SB-1000Pro, even SVS says it will work but I bought 3.5mm to RCA adapter and then sub cable and it is not working...I1ve connected it to the smartphone and sub is working, so connections is ok, it looks like Bose is not giving signal to the sub out...

I'm looking at the Bose 600 and every video that I come across, I love it more and more. Wish it was slightly larger, somewhere over 30 inches, since I have a 65 inch tv and it might look silly under it. I do have an older 2019 Sony TV but the Bose seems to sound a lot better to me. But like always good review.

I have 65” Sony a90j OLED and have the Bose 900, Sub 700, and Surrounds 700. It sounds amazing! If you don’t need a ton of bass, the bar alone is great! I have not heard the Bose 600 but I’m definitely tempted for a smaller living room/bedroom.

Sound comparison part is great, but on the music part, i think it would help to slow down on some of the transitions, & not such short clips, (some of them were so short it was hard to keep up with in a sense). We need a little bit of time to absorb the sound and to notice some differences between one another. Also don't go back and forth between 2 like 10 times in a row when theres 3 soundbars.

Hi, does someone know how to connect using bass output some active subwoofer different brand? I have SVS SB-1000Pro and even on the SVS web they said it is working only need a 3.5mm jack to RCA adapter and then sub cable...but it's not. I checked cables, connect it to the smartphone and sub is working but from Bose not, it seems like there is no signal at this Bass output, how to enable it?

I have 2 Echo Studios that I linked up to a Firestick and used as a home theatre. They actually sounded wonderful but the Firestick has decreased the sound quality of streamed music. I will get the Sony 3000 as a dedicated home theatre and will use the paired Studios for music. Here in Turkey Sonos has pulled out of the market and Bose is hard to find. I'm hoping that the Sony will give me the oomph I need. I know it can't match the Studios for music quality but I'm hoping that dialogue will be clearer. Thanks for the review, I wish I could get my hands on the Bose.

Nice Video! Few questions- I have got a Sony Bravia XR 55 inch X90L. I like Bose and Sony however, Bose has got upper firing speaker but no DTS. Sony doesn't have upper firing speaker but has DTS. 1. Please suggest is DTS and Upper firing speaker really worth it? Or Sony Acoustic Sync will work better for my TV? 2. I don't use gaming consoles or blu-ray players. Is 4K pass through important to consider? or Should I consider Sony A-5000 over A-3000 for this matter?

Just by the color of your lighting the Sony has the warmer sound signature I know the Sonos don't have as warm sausage as a Sony but still a bit warm the Bose is not warm it sounds much louder I know this song has a lot of Base
