Agreed. I’ve been using mine everyday for nearly 10 years. I keep in my bathroom for use in the shower. So, it’s been exposed to moisture daily also. Still sounds like the day I bought it and better than most newer wireless speakers. Battery seems to be weaker than it used to be though.

Thanks for the info. I was searching for the charger and didn’t realize I could change the battery. I’ve had for 10 yrs. I’ve been having the same issue with my speaker, as video mentioned. I thought it was because I left speaker outside during a quick sun shower😊. Again ty fir the video, nice job 👍

This speaker is fantastic. I bought one new around 2012 and it has been through hell: beach, bbq's, PC speaker, etc. I like it enough I bought a second one last month. You can still find them new old stock on ebay. I found your video because, after 10+ years, the battery finally needs to be replaced. I'm waiting on Amazon now!

Mine too. It started just shutting off without even showing the red light and it was happening like half hour after charging and playing. It's the best though. I'm gonna get a replacement battery so I can enjoy it again... : )

@@Jjkplayz1 man that bites! I was really hoping you were going to come back and say it was fixed and you were happy with the replacement battery. My wife got me my SoundLink for Christmas in 2011 or 2012 and I think it’s a great speaker. But I have the same beeping problem and I reached out to Bose a few months ago just because it was free to ask and they actually were going to be able to repair it last October for $75 but I procrastinated because the speaker still worked for the most part. Well of course the symptoms got worse and I decided to call them yesterday and as you can probably guess, they are no longer repairing that model. But they did offer me a $75 discount on the new Revolve Plus from the $300 price tag after I trade in my old one to them. It actually sells for $250 at Target and Walmart so I don’t know if I want to trade it or not with only getting $25 off. It might be worth keeping to tinker with. All that being said, I thank you for saving me the time hassle and money buying the replacement battery. Take care 😎

I have a new battery to put in and this video show how straightforward it is. My only problem is getting off the case to get to the battery. I cant tell if the screws are hex or would an allen key work?

Hello .. I have the soundlink mobile speaker 2 . All the LED lights are on @ the Same time. I tried doing the hard hardest where you hold the mute button for 10 seconds but it didn't work. Got a replacement battery but still the Sam's issues. @ some point I didn't use it for like 3months . When I plugged init started working for a while, but now the Same issue is back! When I plug it in its has the same beeping noise. Reached out to bose but they were like it had reached the end of its life span! I thought after spending so much it was meant to last for life. I need help

I hope it works for you. I would also try to plug it into its own outlet or a surge protector that isn't powering up so many devices that require high voltage. I mainly started having this issue after I upgraded my WIFI router. It required a lot of power and the surge protector couldn't support all of the items plugged in. They functioned correctly, but without knowing, I believe they were running on low voltage when they actually needed more. As soon as I changed the battery in my Soundlink and plugged it back in the beeping went away, but then it came back. I got frustrated and decided to plug it into a wall socket and I noticed that it went away. This made me think that the surge protector wasn't dividing enough power to everything. I rearranged the things plugged in, making sure they were items that required low voltage and the beeping went away. I only had a lamp, my cellphone charger, and the SoundLink plugged into the surge protector and that made the beeping go away. After all this I think I might not have even needed to replace the battery because I basically did something else to fix the issue. Try what I did before you buy a battery and see if that will work unless you’re okay with buying the battery anyway. I didn’t mind replacing mine because I've had it so long that I felt it was time anyway, but it could save you some money if that's something that you might want. Only thing i can think of is maybe the battery doesn't have enough power? Try another battery to make sure.

Hi, I have the same speaker and now it is beeping while is connected to the wall using his charger; so if it is not connected to the wall it do not do the bip, it just connected and charging. I replaced the battery but it continues beeping, maybe so you know how to fix that?

I have one just like yours and I used occasionally, well I know there is around for more than 10 years, but I didn't make anything stupid to make it stop working. There is no much service about it, because "it's obsolete". So I'm considering change the battery, so how is going for you 2 years later, is it still working? @@helmygalindo eu moro em São Paulo, eu revirei a Santa Ifigênia procurando bateria, mas não achei. Tem um pessoal que faz um trabalho para reabilitar a bateria velha, mas colhi alguns depoimentos de que esse procedimento não funciona com a bateria original dessa caixa. Colhi sugestões de comprar a bateria (não original) por sites, comprando desde a China. Então na verdade deixei em segundo plano e devo continuar nisso em outro momento.

Its been almost 11 years of my bose soundlink and 1years ago suddenly red light start blinking and done all troubleshooting bt didn't work recently i changed the battery bt its still redlignt is blinking.do you have any idea what to do?

Dang, my only idea would probably be a bad battery. Check your battery with a digital multimeter if you can and check continuity along the rest of the circuits. It could also be corrosion build up inside or somewhere on the PCB. Sorry I wish I could help more.

Can it work without any battery inside when you plug it to AC ? Mine is still working decently after 8 years but i'm afraid that one day the battery might inflate as some old batteries do, which is dangerous

My battery is dead. My speaker will work on AC. The battery won’t even take a charge any more. Like you, I love this speaker. I really don’t want to replace it. It provides a lot of sound, and good sound. It is not scratchy. It is a rich Bose experience as expected. Thank you for posting this battery replacement. @@augustintacquet488 That I do not know. My battery is still inside. I have ordered a new battery though via the Amazon link above. It was a 10 second deal to get it ordered and on its way. The price was even reasonable compared to some other lithium replacement batteries I’ve had to consider. If you order one from Amazon, make sure the battery matches your speaker model number.

My son found one in a dumpster while dumpster diving. He gave it to me several years ago and I'm still using it. I think the battery needs to be changed but I figured I'd have to do a full disassembly. This was from back when some companies still let users fix things.
