I just got married and my wife and I booked a pavilion at a lake for a small family gathering. Only about 20 people attending.. no DJ.. nothing fancy. Just super down to earth. Decided we should get a bluetooth portable speaker to have some background noise and ended up blind buying the Bose SoundLink Flex. I had no expectations other then reading really good reviews! Once I paired this up with my phone and played some music I was completely blown away by the sound! Absolutely insane. Crisp, loud, clear quality! The only portable music I've had for the last 15 years was my phone so this is a MASSIVE upgrade and I can't believe what I've been missing out on! We're heading to Tennessee next month for our Honeymoon and this speaker is definitely coming along! 5/5

Just bought this speaker today and it is worth every penny! This speaker is barely a quarter of the way loud paired to my cell phone, and it's already loud. Although it is slightly bigger than the Soundlink Mini II, it's still small and light enough for you to carry anywhere and I am LOVING it. This is going to replace my JBL Clip 3 and I'm looking forward to many enjoyable years with this speaker.

I love my Bose Flex speaker. It has a wonderfully balanced sound overall; and is great at bringing out previously inaudible sounds from complex music. The blue color for blue tooth tech is awesome. I got the matching carrying case. However, if you want louder volume more than anything else, you might want to consider JBL, another great speaker with awesome design and colors. For me, these 2 speakers beat the competition.

I have a pair of these and they sound unbelievable good in Stereo mode. The clarity and especially the bass competing with my bookshelf speakers. The implementation of the old bluetooth 4 is so good that beats in terms of sound quality most of my other aptxHD stuff at home.

for anyone that reads this. I bought both the JBL Flip 6 and the Bose Soundlink Flex to see which one sounds better. I knew I would just return the one that I liked less. It wasn't even close! The Bose blows the Flip 6 out of the water. The Flip has such a tinny, cheap speaker sound with very little bass. The Bose honestly sounds like a speaker with much larger woofers. It's actually so impressive how Bose did it. On my desk placed into the corner, it really competes in sound with my Sony SRS-XB43 which is crazy considering the Sony is like 4 times the size of the Bose. And just for the record, this is the first Bose speaker I've ever purchased. I just wanted something for traveling, kayaking, riding my bike, showering, etc. and I heard tons of good reviews about the Bose so I went for it. Really good decision on my part. The ONE COMPLAINT, which applies to many many bluetooth speakers nowadays (unfortunately) is that it doesn't have an aux input. As someone who likes to make music it makes me really sad that I can't just bring my SP-404Mk2 to the park with the Bose and an aux cable and call it a day. I can't plug my synthesizer into it, nor can I connect it to any old school video game system that I own. Those are all different scenarios in which I'm sad that I can't use this speaker, but again, as a portable speaker to travel and do adventure type stuff with, and to have on my desk to watch videos and take calls with, it is an excellent purchase.

I compared the Bose Soundlink Flex to the KRK Rokit 5 G2 and Rokit 8 G4, and I must admit that I am incredibly impressed with the sound quality. I recommend listening to the Bose speaker placed in some sort of acoustic enclosure or cabinet.

Thanks for the review. I picked up the Flex in blue last night. I like the blue. The black attracts heat, and the White will turn yellowish over time. The Flex is nearly twice as loud as I expected. Crystal clear audio at high volume is what you get for the price tag... you won't find better performance for a speaker this size. I was looking for a speaker i could use on a multi-day camping trip so the USB-C is a plus, as i hope to charge it several times with my 20,000mah power bank. I've been trying to find out how many Mah the Flex battery has, but the internet and Bose doesn't seem to know. So far I fully charged it once last night and my bank is still showing near full. I will continue to discharge the Flex each day and recharge it until the powerbank runs out. Will keep everyone posted... but first impressions.... astonishing sound for it's size. You wouldn't know it was this compact if you didn't see it.

@@GeorgyAbraham1998 so far so good. Took it camping for a weekend and all my friends were impressed with the quality of the sound. I was able to charge it around four times with my 20,000 milliamp power bank. Really convenient portability. But that's just exactly what the speaker is. It's a really well performing portable speaker for when you can't carry bigger things and there isn't a whole lot of ambient noise around you like traffic or people laughing and screaming. Probably more suited for poolside then taking to the beach. Very easy for sand to get into the grill which ends up being very hard to remove.

Hey Flossy, thank you so much for this review! Being a Bose fan for over a decade, I was really excited to get this speaker. Especially knowing that it’s portable and waterproof so that I could enjoy my music on the go and in the shower. But with me being totally blind, I use VoiceOver, Apple’s screen reader for the blind, and found out their Soundlink speakers aren’t fully compatible with accessability software for people with disabilities. I took to social media to bring awareness about this, and Bose saw it and responded immediately saying they were really sorry to hear about that and wanted to help change that so all their products would be compatible with it. This is why I have mad respect for companies like them who truly care about their customers and want to make sure they’re getting the best experience possible.

Great Review! Gonna do a sound test today. I’m leaning on switching to this too and replace my Bose Micro. I have a L1 Pro, S1 Pro, but sometimes you need a small portable speaker that can reproduce a clean well balanced sound. I think Bose did it again! Great review Flossy. You had a straight forward and sensible approach which made me keep watching. After checking out this video review and testing the sound quality at my local gadget store, I was hooked. I've just ordered one in the red color. Bose are getting better at their battery life, but they still need to catch up. At just 6 hours battery life, the Bose SoundLink mini doesn't compare to the 12 hours the Bose SoundLink Flex has. 10 out of 10 my man.

Great review as always Flossy,I used to have both the Soundlink mini and Soundlink 3 a few years ago but sold them both. Gone are the days when it's only Bose speakers that pack a punch from a small form factor. I recommend the W King X 10 speaker to you that's much cheaper than JBL EXTREME I,2 or 3 but just as good. Smaller brands are the ones that give better value for money.

This is the first item from Bose in a WHILE that you can tell the engineer team decided to focus on sound instead of 5. bluetooth, For a while Bose got away with selling "LOUD" home theaters and soundbars in Costco. They were just loud. Nothing special. Commercial break I got tired of turning it down... About time we get back some good sound separation. I traded 5 speakers at Best buy until I got the sound flex. Blue stone. I was also a dj for 10 years. 🤙👍

I had the Sound link Mini and Sound link 3 a few years ago but I sold them and in those days all you could do with those speakers is play the music. Just a pity Flossy doesn't mention this in his reviews.Bose as had to come to the party and add functionality to it's speakers because smaller brands were leaving them behind. Definetly sounds good and doesn't sound tinny. Keep up the good work Flossy as always you're the man when It comes to reviews as you don't care how big a brand is if the product is crap you will say it is.
