That is surprisingly small. Something about the voice its loaded with i didn't like. The battery drain is concerning

Yes the voice is really awful. Speaks slow and has an awkward rhythm to its speech pattern.

How does this compare to the Jbl authentics series please.

Jbl authentics is an indoor speaker and this is an outdoor speaker. Quite different products. Not really comparable. Soundlink max can last 20hrs on battery charge. I am sure the authentics sounds better but you need a power source and it is not resistant to outdoor elements. A better comparison would be Bose Home Speaker 500.

Looks like a nice unit. Double the price and looks more suited to be used in a clean environment. I bet it sounds better. Thanks for mentioning that one.
