Hello Chinmay, nice to hear from you again. Though your comment is out of context with this video still let me see if I can help you in your quest. To learn Bin/Veena/Surbahar you have to learn Sitar first for at least 10 years. Else you won't get to the point which you are listening in recordings. The basics like sargams and bols, then intermediate level meends, more sargams and jhala, then advanced level meends and gamaks must be done on Sitar first along with the theory part of several Ragas & Talas and knowledge of singing etc. All these will take at least 10 years if not more. Then you can proceed to Rudra veena and learn about 'shruti' and 'swarved' from your desired Guru. While playing rudraveena you have to learn Dhrupad & Dhamar and that will take another 10 years to even appreciate properly. You haven't told me your age but this is generally the idea of getting there... if you want this badly then I suggest you start with Sitar immediately.

Dear brother you are a lot younger than me and I won't give you any misinformation. You are quite an educated fellow so reflect on what I just said. You can't get to University without passing school and college. You can't start your education there. Be it Ud. Asad Ali khan sahab or anyone else everyone started with Sitar first. The one who says 'he didn't' is either making false statements or is a terrible mediocre player.
