(29 Nov 2017) Bosnian Muslim leader and member of the Bosnian presidency Bakir Izetbegovic praised the verdict of The Hague war crimes tribunal in the case against six Bosnian Croat officials sentenced for war crimes.
Izetbegovic said that the Bosnian people "will remember the evil" committed during the war in Bosnia, but he welcomed a new era of positive relations between his country and Croatia.
Suad Bukvic, a Bosnian Muslim army veteran, welcomed the upholding of the sentences, but called the jail terms "too short".
Bukvic added that he thought the tribunal in The Hague was to blame for this morning's incident, when former Croatian general Slobodan Praljak, whose 20-year prison sentence had been upheld, drank a vial of liquid resulting in his death shortly after.
