Bill, sometimes your guttings look like a hatchet wielded, mass murder crime scene, but your picking and comedy more than makes up for it. That keyway scared the shit out of me, my god you're fierce!

He did the best he could with what he was provided with. I give him an A+ for the effort. And, as always, much appreciated! Totally support sending them back as either defective or at least ineffective, to say the least.

Brilliant! You get better and better each video Bill, I've watched all your videos now and have been completely hooked for almost a year, many more to come I hope :)

In order to gutt these euro cylinders with a pinning shoe you need a special follower with a groove in it. The groove has enough space for the needle, which means it can slide through the lock bible with the pinning shoe still in its place. Once the grooved follower is through all the way all you need is to pull the pinning shoe and gutt the usual way.
@Phred_Phlintstoner7 жыл бұрын
hi Bill! when gutting these half cylinders there is no reason to use the pining shoes. a regular follower will work just fine. you only need the shoe for the double sided cylinders. I've gutted the E-60 half cylinder I have here with just a regular plastic follower many times without a problem.

I've heard that. my uncle has one and said it was worth the price. but I could guess that just from watching all the different people who use them on KZbin. never heard any complaints other than people who ordered one and got refunded from canceled backorders....

Great lock! Good to see Bill in his finest default fumbling gutting mode😁 Pins were not too radical but the warding seemed tricky. I have not used these for Euro's but Foxxy at redcatimaging makes a great looking piece of kit in 3D with the metal bar thingy. Maybe he can donate a set if he feels sorry enough for you!😁hehe. Always entertaining Bill.✌🙃

Bill, that thin you stuck on there works as the follower. Just slide it out carefully and extract the pins from the back. If the springs are too strong you can keep a finger inside to keep it pinned down. Or just shim it and then insert the follower like you did now. Any of these should work in order of likelihood.
@EU_DHD7 жыл бұрын
But yeah, if you're not happy with how they work. Do what works for you :)

Ok, mental note, don't let Bill near the euro cylinders until he get's the right tools ;) Here's a link to the review from LockNoob, and I can tell you, the kit works great: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKK0hKyKeLSsl5I The best part are the included followers, that actually have a small cutout for the finger of the pinholder, that way you don't' have to push out the pinholder with the follower, resulting in what happened in the video.

... yeah, I have an old Eagle lock which I have been annoying for about 2 weeks now. I have been gradually sanding my .015 hook to .010, and it now, finally , goes through the warding. But, it is so frail that I am afraid of breaking it. No security pins ... nothing. Just tough warding. I don't know how you do it.

I Think that needle "follower" is meant for EU oval lock, like in video 734 ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/gpjQgIOBg9Zgl8U ). Looks like the radius is more meant for that.

bill, use the clip remover that lockpickinglawyer uses! he gets the clips off his locks in 2 seconds every time. and he doesnt gauge his fingers!! i think you even own that kit.. its from banggood/huk i think...

Just get the Banggood/HUK kit. It's Chinese, but works really well. Here's a review of it by the LockPickingLawyer: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hWXRd3ujl66pd9U
@R2gbs7 жыл бұрын
Good recommendation. What bill is missing, and that's included in HUK kit, is the special follower with the slit. I agree the HUK holding clip isn't of great quality, but it works. It works better with fewer pins, as the clip tend to bend at the end.
@theparajaim84287 жыл бұрын
He actually owns that kit ;)

The only gripe I have with it is that you can't disassemble a two sided euro cylinder without picking one side first.

Wonder how long it will be, before Peterson takes corrective action, after Bill's critiquing of their pin holders? Most likely, they intended for the users to custom bend/form them.

It’s been awhile since I have seen Bills blatant disregard for knife safety. Wrap up those keys people!!! Bill or lock tribe followers!!! I am looking for a new hook pick. Thoughts on what works best for North American key ways and why you recommend it.

Only an SKG rating of 2, would that be for the risk of snapping this lock?

"Locks 3 stars keep burglars 5 minutes outside the door." So I guess you're right, snapping would be the fast (destructive) way of getting in. It's a shame for such great lock.

Good pick job in tight quarters and very big of you to share your learning curve. When dissembling the stack you may do better clamped in a vise at a comfortable well lite angle. You could also try putting the cylinder in the vise instead. It just takes some practice unless you have industrial loading tools to reassemble the bottom of these critters. This may be helpful to watch kzbin.info/www/bejne/h3-Yp5uCo7utqMU I think you have to make this kit yourself.

Bill, you need a follower like the one in the HUK kit, with a groove in, those pinning shoes look worse than useless, try this one from Foxxy at UKLocksport (Redcatimaging) on Thingyverse: www.thingiverse.com/thing:2457469 you put a metal clip in the small hole and a grub screw in the front to hold it in place. Absolutely the best one I’ve used to date.
