Love it bro. I've stepped up to a BR900 (since Mt MRS8 died), not the 1200. You work that like a pro. Wish mine came with instructions, and reading off a pc isn't the same thing as hard paper in front of you. Good job, love it, MAKE SOME MORE!!

Had the 900cd for a few years now - debating on moving to the 1200, strange even tho these Boss units are knocking on theyre still a popular unit...

Looks cool! I didnt know it had effects and stuff. I got it for free with speekers and some compressors and stuff so I cant wait to use it. I thought it was only for recording but its much more which is great. Im getting the line 6 pod hd500x soon so using that and this it will be freakin sweet. Im not sure if mine came with cd burner but im crossing my fingers that it did! Great vid by the way, very informative! ;)

hi, I just got a second hand boss br1200cd and I have a question: when you finish playing a song, do I always have to hit the stop button to stop it? I've created a short song, it has 50 measures. but when this 50 recorded measures finish playing, the measures keep going on, increasing, 51, 52, ad infinitum, unless I hit the stop button. I thought it would stop as soon as the song ended. is this normal?

Good question. I know that this is 7 years later, but did you figure it out? What was the results? Thanks.

i would never recommend straight jacking unless you are just laying out ideas. for plans of final mixing you cant beat a good amp and mic combo. but then again, you answered his question correctly

Sorry for commenting before I finished the video and heard the master version. I'm quite surprised how great this sounds, and I was wrong about track 3. Nice job, mate! Can I import a midi file (drums) to it?
@alfie6210 жыл бұрын
don't have it anymore but yes you can import midi drums :)
@rayklish53810 жыл бұрын
I think your song would sound much, much better without track 3 (the harmonics on the 12th fret) -- they overpower and don't blend well with the other tracks -- unless this is just a random, off the top of your head thing just to give us the idea. But, anyways -- thanks for the video, brother. I've been thinking about buying this once I get $1,200. Haha. I just need to know if it's worth it. But, happy shreddings, mate. Cheers!

I recognise you're guitar from about 20 years ago! is that possible? Did you used to play at dalfaber country club in Aviemore? If so good to see you're still playing.

I'm recording my first song using the BR-1200CD and I've got tracks 1 - 8 done plus I'm using one of the preset drum loops (on track 9/10). First of all I'd like the song to gradually and slowly fade out, starting at a certain time, which I'm not sure how to do (at the moment the preset drum pattern I'm using is just continuing ad infinitum, after the parts I've recorded on the other tracks have ended). I'd also like to know if I can burn the song to a CD as it is right now, i.e. without bouncing all 9 tracks onto the empty track 11/12 first. Do you have to do this first before burning the song to CD? The reason I ask is because, after spending a long time time recording all the various parts, I'm terrified that: a) I'll mess up the bouncing process (confirmation of how to do this would be appreciated!); b) I'll lose the tracks I've recorded, as they are at the moment, on tracks 1 - 8 (plus the drum pattern on track 9/10) - does the audio on the tracks that are bounced disappear - i.e. are the 'bounced' tracks wiped - in the bouncing process? I'd like to work with the 'unbounced, unmerged' tracks as they are right now at some point in the future, e.g. doing new vocals on track 4 and re-burning; c) I'm worried that when all the tracks are bounced onto one track and merged together I won't be happy with the way it sounds, that it'll sound too dense and muddy compared to the way it sounds right now when I play the song back with the levels of all the individual tracks just where I want them using the faders (and if I am unhappy with the way it sounds, this leads back to my previous point about the individual tracks being deleted in the bouncing process!)

Alfie McQuade No problem, thanks anyway Alfie. I keep forgetting it's pretty much obsolete! For what I'm doing though, it does the job (at least it will do when I've worked out how to use it properly!)... Cheers anyway

Hi, yeah, the BR-1200 doesn't 'know' when your particular song has ended, so it just keeps counting the bars...if you've got the DVD tutorial video that comes with the recorder and watch the bouncing/mixdown/mastering sections, it shows that you have to hit the stop button when your song ends, it doesn't stop automatically.
