Is the high cut the same as the JHS analog mod? If not, is the HC switchable?

@@LeviBulger not sure on the jhs mod. on mine is not switchable. keeping it simple but you can ad a switch if wanted. high cut is the same as analog mod. darkening the repeats.

The year doesn't matter. It's one of the best delays ever made. Nothing has a better dotted 8th or reverse IMO. My fave DD ever.

Me too... just got mine in hand and I’m glad I sprung for it. Shnobel really hit the sound I was after in this demo. I’ve played with the DD7 before but the 5 has everything I need (dotted 1/8, external tap, and reverse) and nothing I don’t (stereo ins, analog sim - I’ve got a carbon copy deluxe), and the second hand price was hard to beat. Never been a huge boss fan, but this thing is changing my tune...

I just bought a DD-5 used. It’s really beautiful and clear sounding, but the DD-7 is as good in a different way. More functions (I use the mod delay all the time and the looper), and warmer which works better for heavy drive sounds. They will both be keepers. Edit: The DD-5 reverse is more usable.

Great review. I have a DD3 & the 5 ~ Started using a DD-7 or replace my Boss Delay(s) I would say your principal conclusion that the DD7 doesn't sound as crisp or bright in the repeats is true - But I think it's actually worlds better that way, for one thing it's deff close enough to be a really nice digital pedal (it's not trying to sound analogue I don't think) I think it was designed to be voiced in a way that helps compliment other pedals on a pedal board or in a small chain of in a Post position) it helps make things such as a Boss Flanger sound way more pleasing with that little mid-low eq voicing. (Along with most other types of pedals) plus using it with the FB5 by boss to tap my tempo in on the fly is an awesome addition ~ Just my two cents... but agin top work on your review ~ Cheers

There was a saying that dd5 was discontinued quickly because it was a failure that made it high-performance but had poor basic functions. Is this true?

Dd5 is better than any dd séries.. Lost for dd 200 and dd 500

The DD5 is a little bit more purer sound, it doesnt have as many settings but the deays are crisper, especially if you get the early dd5 with the purple back label.

Nicholas Foti Nothing to do. Carl Martin Delays don’t sound dry, for instance, a good tape echo, a Maxon AD999 or a tc flashback in some modes for a cheaper option (or Carl Martin Red Repeat for that matter).
