Are you using tube amps?
@graxjpg Жыл бұрын
@@sixstringfun yes, I build and modify tube amps and take em around to gigs haha as heavy as they can be.
@graxjpg Жыл бұрын
I use mine in a 4 cable way (ends up being many more cables than that sometimes), putting the amps preamp in the “ext dist” loop and switching between that and an internal “cosm” preamp with the ctrl switch. That way I have at least two preamps for any given amp head to cover as much ground as I need to with what I have to do. And the FX are all awesome and very versatile.

That sounds really cool. Do you have any pics of what that looks like when you have it all set up?

John, had my GT3 for years but on started playing with it now and totally frustrated with the myriad of patches. for example WHY is there a "Clean Jazz" on bank 8-3, and then again on64-1? Do you know if I can find a list that makes more sense like; A List of all "Over Drive", or "Delay", or "Fuzz", etc., and a list of Synth sounds like "Strings" , or "Brass", etc. Let me know - MUCH APPRECIATED!! Thanks in advance - Ade

Quick question i just got one of these and still trying to figure it out i wanted to know how do you save a sound you like to each number. Thank you
@sixstringfun2 жыл бұрын
Hi. So to be clear, you are asking how to save a patch/sound to say 1-1, 2-3 or 4-2 meaning the first number is the bank and second number is the number in that patch correct?

How do you go direct into the PA with a gt3 and sound as good as an amp that's mic'ed?
@sixstringfunАй бұрын
@@frankcqIII there is a lot of tweaking. You can pick the amp type then pick a cabinet type. I believe you can also pick the virtual spot where a mic would go. From there it's efx. Tedious but can be done

I found a manual on it, like 80 pgs, but I'm still struggling with getting it how I want and learning the tricks
@craigwilliams76209 ай бұрын
Did you find when using in manual mode if you switched everything off you got the natural sound of your amp Richie? The newer modelling effects I find messes up your amps natural tone even with everything switched off. I just want effects like stomp boxes without amps, cabinets etc. Hoping you don't need to use 4 cables...too much avenue for fault for me :-) Thanks for the great video
@sixstringfun9 ай бұрын
When I had it all switched off I didn't see a huge difference in tone from the amp. And I used just a cable into the unit and one out to the amp.

Do you run leads to the front of your amp or Do you use the fx plugs behind your amp
@sixstringfun2 жыл бұрын
I have only gone through the front thus far and it sounds really good. But I'm also going through a tube amp . That probably makes a difference too.

the gt-3 does not have an aux input. is it possible to use send and return to play on a backing track with headphones?
@graxjpg Жыл бұрын
There is a loop in the that can be accessed via the “ext dist” option in the distortion effect block. You can’t use the loop and the distortion effect because the loop is designated as “external distortion”
@jaaxxone Жыл бұрын
Yes, it has effects loop. And yes it does overwrite one patch as I remember likely overdrive/dist like reported here. But use your own pedal in the loop and all is good we the other modulation, compression, delay, etc

Can you use a GT3 with a accustic guitar,?
@sixstringfun11 ай бұрын
I never did as I had a separate set up for my acoustic guitars. I don't see why you can't for some chorus, delay and reverb but my personal opinion is that you have many other options that are better. As an example, I got this one recently and it was maybe $40 USD. It's the acoustic Cube Baby. Simple and works well for a certain budget: amzn.to/3GZbKh5

I saw a guitarist in concert a few years back who used it with an acoustic, it sounded great! We spoke backstage and he told me it was his lifesaver. He was touring with an artist and said he liked going direct and as long as the engineer dialed the sound into his monitor he didn't need an amp which knocked a lot of time off of their sound check, and because they were an opening act they didn't get much time for a check before the show started. Hope that helps.

Is there a battery in the GT3 ?
@sixstringfun2 жыл бұрын
It runs off the power supply. There is also an internal battery that can't be easily replaced. Manual says when the screen shows low battery to have replaced by an official dealer. I figure when/if that happens I'll upgrade to another unit.
@marcmertens89152 жыл бұрын
@@sixstringfun No worries, easy to do, remove all screws in bottom plate, battery will show, replace with common CR-type
@sixstringfun2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for that info. Good to know being that I am challenged when it comes to things like this.
@nuthinbutlove11 ай бұрын
If you remove the screws and the bottom you'll find the battery's easily accessible. I can't remember exactly, but if I recall they recommend not changing it without having the unit plugged in. Otherwise it will erase all of your settings.

i’m trying to get my expression pedal to be for the wah instead of the one made onto the board
@coreyspradley3883 Жыл бұрын
hey man, i have some questions about hooking an expression pedal up to it. know anything about that?
@graxjpg Жыл бұрын
I have a lot of experience with the gt3. I would first plug your pedal into the “sub exp pedal/ext ctrl” jack. Then set one of the “assign” slots to target the frequency of the wah effect. set the “target min and max” to your desired locations. Set the “source” to the “sub exp pedal” and make sure it is set to “normal” and not “toggle”. Hope that helps. I can explain it further if need be.
