Its pointless to justify the event especially when there’s money involved to run the show. If the real intention was to promote safety, tourism and advocating physical endurance, why was there a time frame set and podium finish recognitions? The dynamics and rider behavior changes when these are in place. Good example is the Philippine loop, your own pace, you own your time.

BIMC wants to promote safety riding but also organizes riders to have little to no sleep before the ride and less time to eat and rest during the ride by imposing a 24hr requirement or the sake of challenge. It's ironic.

5:39 di ko makita kung paano nakapromote ng tourism tong event na to eh pinapaspasan lang nila yung bawat bayan na madadaanan. Kung for tourism talaga ang goal at hindi pataasan lang ng ego ng mga big bike owners, my suggestion is to make this not an endurance event, hindi dapat tinatapos yung ruta ng 24 hrs lang, talagang may maaaksidente diyan. Hindi naman lahat ng seasoned riders, kayang manatiling gising 24 hours. Then lagyan nila ng mechanics like, dapat makapagpicture sila ng tourist spots per check point, tapos daytime lang babyahe para makita ang tanawin, yon promotion of tourism talaga. Most ng accidents na napanood ko sa fb, gabi nangyari and they should learn from that.

for sure babalik ang mga riders sa mga lugar na yan pagkatapos ng event dahil di man lang nila na-enjoy yung mga lugar na napuntahan nila dahil paspasan nga ang biyahe. That in a sense masasabi nagtagumpay na yung LGU sa kanilang goal to promote motorcycle tourism lalo't moneyed yung mga kasali

In my opinion sir zac maybe they should employ a lead car and those who would pass the lead car during the run should be DQd automatically. Using a lead car with employment of the technology they are currently using, in my opinion would prevent those issues with BIMC

I worked in Saudi Arabia, we used to travel 1200km every few months. From Dammam to Jeddah. It takes 20-24 hrs depends on how many stops you had. Our minimum speed is 120-140kph. Now I'm telling you roads in Philippines Vs roads in Saudi Arabia is way way way different.

Imposibleng walang mag overspeed jan. 1400km in 24hrs. Min 60kph dapat all throughout eh imposibleng walang traffic light na need huminto and may time din na need mag menor. Kaya babawiin talaga nila yan pag straight line hahataw talaga 100+ kph BIMC only promotes reckless riding. Walang kwentang event yan.

Kung for tourism ang objective, mas maganda sana kung naglagay sila ng checkpoint sa bawat tourism spot ng mga bayan na dinaanan nila and post it on thier socmed by the time they get there and the organizer will verify it as soon as the rider reach the finish line, then to avoid overspeeding dapat may exact time sila na alotted for every checkpoint. No more no less.

Sir Zach, pwede po ba matanong and sa mga mga kapatid narin natin jan kung bakit full blast ang mga aux lights nga mga 2-wheels lalo na mga big bikes? ano po logic and nakaka bulag na kahit tirik na tirk ang araw full blast sila ng mga nakaka silaw na LED lights (lalo na sa mga BOSS races na to mabubulaga ka nalang and matataranta sa dami ng kasabayan sa daan na full blasts ilaw)!

Ang Publikong kalsada ay hindi dapat ginagamit sa karerahan, maraming madadamay dyan na maaaring masaktan , biruin mo 1200km tapusin lang sa 24 hours, talagang Ratratan yan 😊, Race talaga ang mangyayari dyan . Duon nalang dila sa Race Track kahit 48 hours sila dun.

good discussion sir, just an idea, how bout they set the organizers to be the pacer with their bikes or their pace vehicles, then set rules that no one can go ahead of them just to set everyone on the right speed, then 24 hour time constraint will still be achieved at the same time.

I'm all in sa mga incognito snipers para sa overspeeding, para pagdating sa checkpoint, may free na ticket. Masaya yan. resing resing kasi nangyayari.At kung totoong endurance bet nila, gawin nila sa track mala lemans gawin nila, wag sa public roads.

Sa tingin ko Yung endurance naging Race event na e. Mas maganda siguro yung LAST 3 riders na makakarating sila yung may magandang premyo tapos yung first 10 na unang makakarating ay DQ agad kahit anong oras pa yan. Ewan na lang kung may mag unahan pa dyan. 🥴

Had a chance to share the road with these BIMC contestants. Busina ng busina kasi nasa inner lane ako kasi may inovertake din akong ibang sasakyan. Akala siguro nila na reserve na nila ang fast lane kasi nasa contest sila. Parang mga may ari na ng daan.

Man, I agree with all that you've said. May I add, coordination with the LGU AND due warning and notice to the public that their community, public roads are part of a "race" route (calling it a race, because that is what's actually happening). When people are forewarned, people tend to be less of a road hazard for entitled, noisy roadhogs. That did not happen when these riders entered the busy main streets of Southern Davao City during the last part of their Mindanao leg. I am a witness to that. They put 3 community kantos at high risk because instead of them, giving due courtesy and priority to the pedestrians (coming from church and going to dinners), they Honked at them, Revved their machines and literally drove through pedestrian lanes forcibly. WE WERE NOT INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A MAJOR EVENT GOING ON. WE JUST THOUGHT THAT THERE WERE A LOT OF RICH KAMOTES ON THE ROAD AND THROWING THEIR WEIGHT AROUND. If not for the accidents, and the disturbance these kamotes did to our community, I wouldn't have known of this BIMC. Ironic, BOSS is an acronym for BMW Owners Society of Saferiders-- I agree with the BMW Owners Society-- But, saferiders, putting the pedestrians and oncoming traffic at risk with their offensively high beamed Lights (auxilliary and all)... to allow this to happen, IMO that is far from Safe as I can consider; both for the riders and the unsuspecting public at large. That is a disaster waiting to happen.

I do really think that they have to make dqs immediately when parang ang bilis na ng time ng rider from checkpoint 1 to 2, and don’t let them continue to the end point. Para naman maiwasan na yung accidents with overspeeding. Well, kapag kamote talagang bobs with normal speed, ibang usapan na ‘yon.

Endurance pero may time? Ano yan time trial. Lol! Natural talaga maguunahan mga kalahok kasi may time limit. Racing pa din sya, iniba lang ng pag explain at definition. Ang pag kakaintindi ko sa "endurance" patagalan mag drive sa mahabang route, hindi ung may time limit, time trial etc. Sino niloko nitong mga nag pa event nito.

Walang tourism promotion na nangyayari sa ganito. Dahil dinadaanan lang yung mga provinces along the route and sad to say accidents occur na ang talo eh yung mga local residents na nadadamay. Sure may mga participants na matitino na they are in hindi to finish in the quickest amount of time but to enjoy the event and built lasting memories for themselves or with their group. Kung promotion nang tourism at safety ang advocacy nang event na ito they should at least make it longer then 24 hours. Na kada Provinces na madadaanan nila is required ang mga participants to visit historical sites on the said provinces, enjoy the local delicacies at may required na amount of time for the participants to spend and get to know culture in that place as well. 24 hours to cover 1,200 kms is a recipe for disaster. Kung 24 hrs lang ang limit might as well isara nila ang buong Marinduque it will take them 8 and a half roundabout sa isla to cover that 1,200 kms. Mas madali pa ang crowd control dahil maliit lang ang coverage nang event.

rules ng BIMC is sobrang kulang hanggang rules lang hindi rin naman sinusunod ng mga participants dapat mas mahigpit na rules plus local government and LTO and more visibility ng inforcer sa daan para na gaguide yung mga motorista sa nangyayaring event. every year mqy ganito nangyayari na sana na mamaximize na nila dahil every year event yan eh.. dami pa kulang talaga.

dagdag HPG sa daan nakatago, may speed scanner ba tayo bawat patrol nakakabit at standby lang sa gilid pagnakita habulin na agad at tiketan? Yung iba tatakasan pa ang HPG, parang nung isang HPG nakita ko sa isang video, hindi kaya handle motor, dumeretso sa gilid, parang marilaque din mga naka GS1250 pa yun gumagawa ng ganon lagi, overtaking at double yellow lane na maraming sasakyan sa kalsada, either naka hazard o hindi nagsignal kaliwa o pakanan naka mamahaling bike pero hindi alam basic traffic rules

These guys went through my town in Zambales in no time. No surprise since Subic Bay is just 40-30 minutes away from me at doon ang take off venue nila. I live 1 km away from the main highway and I can hear their engines roaring as they pass through. Ang daming reports from Zambales of these riders crashing, a few confirmed deaths sa mga nadamay sa crash, may isang comatose from our barangay, at may isang spectator na binugbog ng dalawang rider ng Ironman while a police officer watches helplessly (nangyari yan sa barangay ng parents ko, there's a video of it online). It's disheartening. And hearing comments and opinions from other people na parang wala lang sa kanila yung loss of life ng mga nadamay lang sa pointless na race na yan (yes, it's a race against time). Truly, disheartening.

Di ko talaga gets ang Boss Ironman kung endurance pala yon bakit ganon may time limit? Ang daming tourism opportunity ng Boss Ironman kaso di ko gets kung para san talaga ung event. Kung endurance ang usapan ang daming mga long riders dyan na back and forth sa LuzViMin. Yung mga bumabyahe ng 3 araw or more. Yun talaga yung mga boss. it's not right to say na "okay lang naman dahil madaming nakarating sa finish line nang matiwasay". 'pano naman yong mga innocent victims ng accidents? sa tingin nyo ba okay lang sa bikitima at sa pamilya nila? may namatay pa based from what I saw/read online, yan pa lang red flag na yan Endurance Challenge using Public Roads. (I'm not just referring to BIMC but all endurance challenge being held on public roads). The fact na mayroong nadamay, these events should be stopped.

Ano ba ang pinakakailangan para maging safe ang driving? hindi ba maayos na motor at alerto na driver. So I don't really get the point na papaano magiging safe ang pagdridrive kung may hahabulin ka na oras at dahil sa paghahabol wala kang enough na tulog. If this event is also promoting tourism, papaano ka magpropromote na wala man lang mga stops na kasamang pasyal sa mga tourist destination? The objective of the event is contradiciting to the policies and how the event is being organized. Hindi mo maaalis na "nagiging pera pera na lang yan" opinion ang maririnig mula sa public because of the series of accidents and it has been going on for consecutive years and increasingly pa ang mga accidents ng mga sumasali. Naguging "macho image", or the event is being used to promote high venue of clout chasing. For me yes the government should intervene but not to the point na manghuhuli lang kundi stop this kind of events. Mahirap niyan as idol Zack said, pamilyado siya at may mga anak. Eh kung yung nabangga ganun din tapos bread winner pa tapos less fortunate pa, will they support the whole family's need at hanggang makapagtapos ang nga bata? Incase the accident will cause permanent disability or worst death? This is becoming a selfish event (for me) for the organizer and oara sa mga nagjoijoin.

Suggestion ko lang,with our technology and stuff. Magcreate sila ng app na gagamitin ng lahat ng sasali,sa app mismo is live track and recorded ang speed...kita agad if overspeeding na sila.yun palang enough proof of not following traffic rules and pde na revoke ang license. Just my 2 cents

Sa totoo lang medyo hamb*g karamihan ng riders jan. This Sunday lang, parang sila may ari ng expressway kung magpatakbo. Pangalawa, nung nandito kami sa bayan ng Baler, nandito sila nagpapatakbo ng mabilis sa LOOB ng bayan with matching Insta 360 pa. (Proud pa sila!) Then I heard the locals, sabi nila makakadisgrasya sila sa ginagawa nila. The locals are bothered sa ginagawa nila.

for me new rules should be included 1) GATEKEEP version : like from starting point to checkpoint 1 approx. should be taken for 2.5 hours but arrived after 1.75 hours(rider rode too fast), there should be a cooldown period and consume 2 hours at least from starting point to check point 1 (so rider needs to stop for 15 mins , mandatory before getting back to complete the challenge) in that way ma pipilitan silang "nako next check point maaga nanaman ako ng 30 mins" mag control ng ride pacing. like sa current route ng BIMC Subic Bay International Airport to Pangasinan Provincial Capitol Grounds, Lingayen, Pangasinan IS ALMOST 3 HOURS, kung mabilis k tapos 1 hour 30 mins mo lng kinuha yan pahinga ka 30-45 mins bago take off sa check point 2 or mandatory at least two hours mo kunin yun, kung maaga ka di k pede mag proceed until two hours sa 1st check point , then as the endurance near its end mas shorter wait time ang iset ng mga organizers or yung mga accident prone area, dun mag lalagay ang BIMC ng need to consume "x" amount of ride time.. do you agree mga paps?

I completely agree with your sentiment, and your suggestion resonates with my own thoughts. It seems prudent for the organizers to calculate only the time between each checkpoint, with each checkpoint responsible for timing the takeoff to the subsequent one. By compiling the time from checkpoint to checkpoint, the organizers can determine if a participant has completed the event. This approach would afford participants the opportunity to enjoy some time at each city or checkpoint for souvenirs or a short break, if desired. If ready to proceed, participants can simply inform the checkpoint staff and have their starting time marked again for the next leg of the journey.

Dapat matic na DQ pag maagang dumating sa 1st check point pauwiin na agad. Obvious namang nag overspeeding Wala ng pahinga ng 30 to 45 minutes. Safety nga pinopromote ng event.

I think BIMC should have a Lead motorcyle in front. Parang Follow the leader lang. If lalagpasan mo yung Lead na motor from the Organizer ng event. Matic DQ yung lalagpas sa kanya. So kung ano yung takbo nung lead motor ng Organizer ganun lang din dapat yung takbo ng mga participants.

I think this is something na need e double check ng organizers to enforce full partnership with the government. In the other part of my mind they might be things na already ginawan ng way ng Organizer kaso nahihirapan sila coz maybe they cannot function well due to some of the government officials na probably nang hihingi ng budget or padulas. Well they're just my thoughts. Hopefully on the next Boss Ironman Challange if meron pa mas magiging mas and hopefully the things happened this year and the previous year would be a lesson learned para sa lahat not just the organizer but everyone including the bystanders na if they know na ang Boss Ironman Challenge will be on their route or place mas magiging maingat sila sa pag mamaneho or mas magiging cautious sila sa paligid.

Very unpopular opinion: BIMC and similar motor challenges ek-ek should not be conducted just yet. Philippines is far from ready and organizers are too weak to man all stretch. Dogs and children cross the street anytime anywhere, household doors open practically directly to the streets, pedestrians walk on highways double to triple column in the lane, roads are peppered with debris and your friendly neighborhood money-making road constructions/repair. More importantly, traffic laws are bound to be violated throughout events like this. Mind you, BIMC etc. is not your usual funeral procession, marathon, fun run, or bicycle race in the middle of the road. BIMC etc. involves hulking 1000cc motorbikes, that can do speeds above 200kph. These are monster machines that could literally tear through flesh, muscle, ligaments, can crack bones or dismember limbs of the unlucky pedestrian. The BIMC is just another glorified parade of those who can spend a lot of money before spectators who cannot (the majority of them at least). There is nothing inherently wrong in that, except that in the Philippine scenario, it reflects all the that is wrong in our country. I expected half as much from Makina to issue its side, but we are not Makina, and this is our opinion. The Philippines is a young population with teenagers who are young and restless. Maybe it is a high time for the government to invest in proper tracks, at least for every region, where these young ones can let themselves go responsibly and learn at the same time to respect the road and Life in general. LGUs can include this in their agenda and then maybe institutionalize a Gran Prix of sorts for various events: drag race for bikes and cars, stock car racing in a full race track. Win the Luzon circuit, win the Visayas circuit, and win the Mindanao circuit, and you have yourself a Champion. Add sponsors for that, organize regional teams, and local tourism and the economy will just maybe, grow and do their thing. And all of these done in a controlled environment and not on the public roads where the lives of human beings are put in unnecessary risks. Enough said.

It will never be an endurance challenge but an ego tripping lifestyle. Our privileges end the moment we violated or stepped into someone else's rights. I watched Congress discuss how one clause provided the family with 100k as compensation "tulong." Reality, mahirap maging mahirap. That's how low it is, 100k lang kayo in exchange for your life. Very sad.

Stop racing at "night" in public road, you may call it "endurance challenge" but it's still a race with a goal. So dumb and ignorant organizers and also the ones who joined it. How about you do it safely in a race circuit like the Le Mans endurance event. Even the TT isle of man road circuit is close from public use during the event for safety, accidents may still happen but atleast it won't involve innocent people.

Dumaan samin ang ibang participants ng BIMC. Supposedly it's an opportunity to let people admire your ride, inspire people to ride, promote riding safety advocacy, etc. Unfortunately, IMO the opposite happened... super kamote sila, carelessly overtaking, over speeding, senseless revving. As a rider myself, I was irritated when I saw these riders.

When you participate, you automatically become a kamote. If not, why participate? We all know that when you drive straight for 5 hours or more, you become sleepy. Para mawala medyo mag speed up. However, by speeding up, you become more prone to accidents.

Laging minemention na napakagaling kasi unang tumapos. What a bunch of hypocrites. Haha. Tapos they always end it by saying "Ride Safe lagi". So followers of these dumb moto vloggers see it as something cool and akala nila ok lang or tama yung ginagawa. These moto vloggers even mention in their videos na "Kahit na-DQ, sa paningin namin, sya pa rin ang number 1. Idol talaga...".

I think they should pattern this to the Iron butt challenge set of rides. No mass launch hence no racing. Individual bikers doing the challenge. If you get caught overspeeding or reckless riding then that's it. You forfeit the challenge. It can be done not just in a group of testosterone laden riders.

Nakalagay sa logo ng ironman, 1200kms in 24hrs, so Kung simple math constant 50kph ang takbuhan. Paano pa Kung ifactor in ang gas break, toilet break, meal break??? Anu na ang average speed dapat? Paano pa yung nakatapos ng 20hrs or less? HALIK KE KAMATAYAN SPEED ANG KELANGAN NA NYAN!! 😂
