Watched this and it moved me to play my Strat and just let go. Dave, as someone who struggles with anxiety and depression, im hoping the universe helps you heal. We all think you're great, and your bideos got me back to playing after giving up on every thing. Heck, your short playing the Friedman Little Sister was the final straw for me. I've actually just bought a Katana 100 Gen 3 based on your recommendations. And I have to say... it lives up to its rep. A couple (or so) years ago I was debating buying a Blackstar ID Core 100 or a Boss Katana or even something else like the Line 6 Spider and some others. And at the time I went with the Blackstar because I like Blackstar tube products (amp heads, distortion pedals, etc.) But not so long after, having the amp die on me because of the software problems, and also.... I hated the spkrs they had in it. I really since then wish I'd gone with the Katana. Now, I finally did and I'm pretty amazed at the quality and versatility. I even think it may well be gig worthy. But I'd have to see it in a rehearsal setting first. Again, thanks for the great review vids;

I am so pleased that Boss have sent you the Katana Head! For the LONGEST time I have wanted to hear a proper review of the internal speaker! Yeah, of course its going to be great into a cab but, I also want to use it at home without the neighbours complaining! 🙂

This is the first time I’ve seen your channel. I’m blown away by your playing. You were channeling Jimi Hendrix and getting amazing tones! I recently got this amp head and love it. I like the flexibility of having the built in speaker. I recently went on a road trip where I took this head with me and played in hotels with the built in speaker. It made my trip more fun! It’s convenient not having to lug a cabinet to use it as a practice amp. When plugged into a cabinet it sounds even more amazing. I just subscribed to your channel. I know you said you are going through a hard time. I hope you feel better soon. Love hearing you play your guitar!

Wow 🎵❗️I plan to get one of those to go with the Waza cab I already have and wondered what that sounded like through the little 5” speaker 🔈. No worries now. It sounds as good as my big Fender amp. I can’t believe how great it sounds and all those onboard effects! My oh my. I’ve been planning to order mine this week and now I know I will follow through. That head is a beast. I can’t wait to watch your video of all its functions etc. Sorry you’ve been a bit down but as a lifelong sufferer of depression I would tell you to remind yourself that the lows always have an end. It’s a cycle 🔄. I know that’s hard to do when you’re down but it’s true and you know it. You have to do your best to remember that it will pass. And, you just had a really successful show filling in with a band that you never even practiced with and it was like you had always been with them. Think about how relieved and pleased the other band members were that you played like you had always been with them. Good for you 😊. 👍☮️🌞🎸🎵🩵

Excellent playing! The amp sounds great, especially coming out of a 5" speaker. I bought my brother the Katana II 100W head. I don't recall it sounding this good out of the internal speaker, but I plugged it into his 12" cab nearly straight away. I didn't play it much through the internal speaker.

Man, that amp sounds amazing just of the 5" speaker. I already have a Roland Micro-Cube along with a Boss Pocket GT, and because I really can't play a 100W anywhere without the police showing up and getting an eviction notice, I decided to get the Boss Katana Air (model KTN-AIR), and if I didn't like the stereo 3" speakers, I could use it as a pre-amp for my larger amps. I did get the Boss FS-1-WL to work as a footswitch and wah/volume pedal for the Boss Katana Air as well as the Boss Pocket GT, and my amp-sim on my Linux box using Carla, Guitarix, and Ardour5 or Tenacity (a FOSS version on Audacity) to record with. Another cool thing is that the Boss Katana Air allows for re-amping, so you can record and send the same signal to the amp, and get the sound as if it was being played though the amp with effects, or clean and just the signal.

Dave, your playing is killer!, and you dialed in great tones so quick!, I have both the 50, and 100w mk2, and they’re great, but I keep 2nd guessing my sounds, and I’m not even close to the tones your getting, with a fender strat, a Gibson Les Paul, or my Gibson sg special with p90’s., all my guitars have great setups, but my sound always seems to be lacking what I hear in your vids., well, back to it I guess!, peace brother!

Far be it from me to give any advice, but I would say it's my horrible health from having MS that truly makes me have really bad mental days. If your health is good, you should smile really big because the alternative is mostly unnecessary torture that only seems necessary in the moment. Oh, and I really want a Katana amp!! Rock on Dave!!

Pretty sure the 100w head always had a wee 5” speaker in them (all generations thus far). I had one and sold it (like a fool). Now I want a Gen 3. For home use they are fabulous even without the cab.

I couldn't see the little speaker until you pointed it out, and then I did, now I can't unsee it. When I close my eyes I still see it. Went to get something out the fridge and there was one there too on the middle shelf next to some cheese that wasn't its original colour. Could see two mini ones in my dogs eyes. I may now need long term therapy.
