Love mini Katana. It's a great amp...very natural tone
@BK-lx5mo5 жыл бұрын
One thing to keep in mind is the Katana input is slightly compressed (why it sounds so good with just about any guitar/pickup config). With humbuckers, I typically roll my volume down to 8 and it sounds very natural, very close to my tube amp. As you might imagine, that slight input compression can also squish your pedals - I found running my board into the ACOUSTIC mode sounded the best for clean, uncolored headroom while still having a tone stack for overall tweaking.

Ben Hackett hey Ben, could you elaborate on that a little....what do you mean they come from behringer?
@RobCabreraCh5 жыл бұрын
@Ben Hackett I agree that you can get a lot of pedal for not a lot of money nowadays. However, I have 3 Joyo pedals, and I just never fell in love with any of them. They do sound good, but they just weren't for me. I tend to stick with MXR, I find that they are not very expensive and they sound great! My MXR M77 Modified OD is one of my absolute favourite pedals ever, and I just paid $70 USD for it brand new! That being said, I do have a couple of boutique pedals and I'm just in love with the sounds on there! I think that it's not about the price of the gear, but its more about how that specific piece of gear resonates with you as a player. That's when you decide if it is worth the price.

Stellar as always Mick. If you plan on doing a few more of these "onsite" sound demos can you dig up one of the DB meters that didn't pass muster for TPS and throw that in your H6 bag? Ok, I think one of the most impressive things in this video was the audio on the Zoom camera! I have heard all of the other items individually, but it was kind of neat to hear it all put together and then realize that the audio was captured by the on board mic of essentially a sports action camera.

As a touring musician, I’ve gone over to a Helix. A HX stomp, to be exact. It is missing the last 9% of a tube amp, but is so amazingly consistent and so much easier to handle when you don’t have a crew to carry the heavy amps every night for four weeks straight. I use it together with my most precious pedals instead of just the full helix.. This is probably blasphemy to ask of you guys, but i would really love to get your views and perspective on amp modulations like this in a live setting. Both the full size helix, the hx-stomp or any other brand for that matter. Please help us uncover the hidden secrets of these machines, like you do on everything else. Since you did the solid state video, I’ve been hoping for this. Love the show, true fan from Norway!

Hello! We can’t connect with it. Totally get the practicality and why people are turning to them in their droves when their current situation is so compromised. (Quiet stages, average amps and rigs). I just wish you could hear a full G2 wet-dry rig. So no,current plans to go there.... when we have a relevant question, we’ll do it. Meantime. sooooo many people tell us they way prefer it over their tube amps. Kinda confusing why they need us to vindicate that decision. Cheers!

A really lovely video, thanks! The “getting lost” in the Belle Époque really chimed with me as it shows how an interesting delay or looper can enable you to create music that transports you, even when playing alone. I’ve found getting into more creative delays, like the Count to Five has really helped me feel like I’m making music again, rather than just noodling. I wonder if an episode on “interesting/quirky delays” would be good for we home guitarists who don’t have bands to play with?
