I've seen what's inside, the Boss Me 8 uses a sturdy iron frame like the Me 80, 50, 70, 25. Surprisingly, inside the plastic box there is a sturdy iron frame. However its BOSS !

I was ready to buy it together with the Jackson PS-4 back in 1995. But I saved some rubles and went with locally made distortion pedal (PROFI 501). Couple years late I lost a bag with that pedal and some cables. I was so happy it wasn't ME-8 :))))))

It’s an odd duck. To me, it has the best analog over drive and distortions of all the Boss floorboards but, simultaneously, the junkiest construction. I guess that was meant to keep it light and affordable.

Hello, congratulations for the channel and the contents! How do you see the ME8 in comparison with ME5 in terms of tone quality and warmness? grateful if you have any suggestion or personal experience on how you prefer among the 2 models for example etc etc …thanks a lot! ( I play smooth and pop styles with sometimes some rock tones.. )
@cliftonwright70819 ай бұрын
With or without the nostalgia factor, I think the ME8 has the best drive pedal sounds of any Boss floor unit ever made. Especially the blues driver. That’s just my opinion though. The effects are dated but serviceable. If you ran one into a newer amp sim box like an iridium or a UA dream, you’d have a wildly versatile set up.

Haha yeah, I’m from south Texas so country was one of the basic facts of life. The thought has cross my mind! I like the OD sounds in this unit more than a lot/all of their later stuff, though the plastic needs to be taken care of!

Isn't the GT-5 the last one with analog drives or is that the GT-3?
@jbognap3 жыл бұрын
@@christianboddum8783 Yes. I play a GT-100, but after watching this video, I went back to the GT-5 for a bit. I didn't really notice much of a difference and the 100 is so much more versatile. My next unit will probably be one of the smaller ones - GT-1000 Core, HX Stomp XL or the Headrush MX 5. Though I need more than 3 footswitches. I would be all over a GT-1000 Core XL. 🙂
@christianboddum87833 жыл бұрын
@@jbognap I was thinking of up scaling to a GT-100 around 2017 but made the plunge for a Helix floor, and man I'm glad I did. It would be nice If all that programming could be fitted in a smaller box for some situations though. For me the distance between the switches is Really important for live use, I even find the distance a little too narrow on the Helix, but hey, then it would be too big for normal carry (in a flight case) ;-)
