I see they kept the same Reverbs. Would have been nice to have had an update ie longer tails or Modulation. For me that's not a deal breaker because I would just put a better reverb through the effect loop that comes with it.

SUPER COOL PAL - I AM STOKED ABOUT THIS RELEASE . oh crap caps lock - oi was playing bloons td lol. so yeah i have an old boss gt 6 . i would love to get one of these . the boss psa120 is a very good ( quiet ) ps . i would be running thiss of li ion batterys , or nihms . they have these 21700 cells now , they are larger than the lion 18650s , really cool cells . i got 4 out of a dustbuster at the bootsale for about 7 dollars . i ordered a flashlight for them trhat has the charging port and usb cable so i am gonna fire those up soon . if i like them , i will be getting more . i have a large collection of 18650s all used . thats how we make music outdoors . or 600 watt pa runs off a e-bike battery which is just a heap of those lions. enjoy the boss i bet with some programming and using custom irs you could dial it in sweet sounding . i have some impulse reponses on a google drive i think ...look around for those in forums sometimes guys give them away - th e pay packs . i have a huge collection and i have found that a really good ir is kind of rare .at least the ones that really kill imo . but you know - tone is kind of subjective isnt it .

Cheers Petey! Yeh I have managed to gather up quite a few of those free IRs people leave floating around, as well as making a bunch of my own which I need to try with this thing. I am slightly worried the NUX trident is gonna be the better sounding option out of these two though!! 😂

it's still looks like the ME-80 but on a new casing. I wish they change the plastic foot switch to those metal ones with LED to look more futuristic. IMO this design even looks much cheaper than the ME-80.

I think it’s slightly more compact and it does feel a bit more solid - all the plastic do feel like they are of decent quality for what it’s worth…

Or you could buy a better looper pedal and run it through the effects loop. 🤔 This unit is well worth the price. Just some of the effects inside alone, would cost you hundreds of dollars, if bought as individual pedals. Just saying

Why do you play so many of the preamps with the gain on max? It’ll never sound good that way.
@PedalScience
@PedalScience Жыл бұрын
Fair point - I will explore it with more reasonable gain levels with it running through a guitar amp in a future video. I like to check the max gain in the amp models to see how it responds to backing off the guitar vol
@TheDilligan
@TheDilligan Жыл бұрын
@@PedalScience I think the tendency when playing AMP models is to increase the gain because the real amp is not in the room with you and you are expecting it to restore that umpf with the gain. But most of the time you don't need that much. A trick I'm learning is to record it and then listen back so I can hear the tone without the extra factor of feeling the strings, or hearing your strings if you are playing at low volume. For me, that usually reveals that I'm using too much gain or too much treble.

So basically the question is how much better does A.I.R.D sound than COSM? Other than that, and some new stomp boxes, this is a ME--80.....which is why players like it I guess. Familiar old friend with a sound update?....But is it really? Maybe a head to head ME--80 vs ME--90 showdown just to see?.........sometime's those comparison video's can surprise people. Not always the way they assume either.

Hi! Was just wondering if you can have multiple reverbs on? And can you change the order of the effects for example reverb before distortion etc. I havent found any of these ”cheaper” multi fx that can actually do that? /Your neighbourhood Shoegazer😊
@PedalScience
@PedalScience Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately you can't put reverb before distortion, you can only adjust the order of the preamp and send/return loop (so you could accomplish it with an external reverb in the send return loop). The only way to do something like a multi-reverb would be to use the '+reverb' delay mode with one of the regular reverbs simultaneously.

Thoughts on the Vs Line 6 HX Effects?
@PedalScience
@PedalScience Жыл бұрын
I think the HX Effects sounds a bit better in most modes, particularly the distortion / fuzz effects, but doesn't have regular pots like the ME-90 so its a bit slower to dial in.

For ease of use with great sounding amps / fx , the Pod go is still a great small processor , the amps ( dirty ) on the ME -90 sound too buzzy ! The Pod Go costs a little more , but is worth it
@rodolphep0nthus555
@rodolphep0nthus555 Жыл бұрын
You gotta carefully select the output of the device, and be very precise on the gain, preamps, EQ, 12 output options to choose from in the global menu (regarding what kind of amp you plug it in) The ME90 is a very powerful and pro level device (in the sense that a pro or advanced user will know what to do) It does not sound fizzy if you want it. This guy did not take enough time to adjust the levels.. Like a lot of guys on Utube If you watch Alex Hutchings reviews of the ME90, you will understand what I mean In the right hands the ME90 is a beast. I own it and have to work on it a bit.. It sounds over the top
@TheDilligan
@TheDilligan Жыл бұрын
Pod Go is more limited in my experience due to the DSP limits. The ME-90 can do all effects at once, no matter what you pick, with enough headroom to do trails between patches. Neither can pull off dual amps or stacked overdrives and delays. But at least both have a send/return. And Line6 is far behind Boss' current generation of amps. I had a GT1000 for a while and haven't personally heard any better amp modeling on the market, except maybe the Fender Tonemaster amp. Line6 preamps are pretty good, but not as dynamic and responsive. Their CABs and anything out there that uses IRs is pretty far behind Boss' AIRD cabs, which are kinda like a fusion between a profile and a model. Also Idk what it is about the Pod Go, maybe it has cheaper A/D Conversion or something, but it doesn't sound as good as the HX stomp. In my opinion, as great as the UI and effects offerings there is on line6 stuff, Boss is better sonically. I currently have an HX stomp and no longer have a GT1000 because Line6 updates their stuff constantly and Boss never does. But for $350, I'm happy to have the ME-90 to have the Boss sonics back. Plus the tactile format makes it feel like it doesn't need updates.

Is there a lot of difference with ME 80 ? Does it worth upgrading?
@peteytwofinger
@peteytwofinger Жыл бұрын
i would say yes , the me80 is a great unitand boss sold more of those than anything else they make . but this has a lot of new features and its much more modern , the custom ir loading is one of the main things . thats just my opinion and i own neither but i would say yeah this one is going to do well for boss , but its always best to wait a while and see what the community thinks in forums and comment sections . the only thing is the display some people may be turne doff by that , but not me . color displays , well you dont hear the display . its more for the type of person who i am not . boss has great effects , the amp modeling and cab sim end of the deal has come a long long way . i own a nux mg30 - its a great budget unit - great not the simplest and requires a lot of work to dial it in not alot of extras either and some shortcomings for the money its the best sounding unit on the market in its price by far, but it isnt simple to operate and much more fully featured - this is much more user friendly - its hands on and easy to adjust especially for a player who likes to adjust and not have everything so preset . right ? thats the idea as i am sure you know . i wouldnt turn my nose up at something like this , this thing kills . how much is it , prolly i would guess around 5-6 hundred usd oh no its only 350 ! yes get it ! you could sell the 80 and get a bit for it or save it as a back up . the 24 bit thing is a big difference in sound quality .

@@peteytwofinger I have an ME-80 and a GT-1000 but the ME-90 with effects loop, AIRD vs COSM, IR loading, new effects, Bluetooth dongle, is a definite Go. I also just got an Eventide H-90 Harmonizer (much more expensive) to use in the effects loop of the ME-90. The difference is that in the pitch-shifting of the H-90, the further up or down you go, it auto-EQ's to compensate. Something to do with "multiple formant filters" that Eventide is well acquainted with. The ME-90 is not in that league of effect but since I am using both units at the same time, I can optimize the sound and ease-of-use. ME-90 can be learned in a day. H-90 more like a year.

Sonically should be pretty much identical. It's really a question of your needs. If you want a more straightforward, tactile experience with a limited signal, path: ME 90.
