Blues Driver for sure! The sd-1 didn't leave my board for probably 15 years prior to that but now I just like it for a few select applications.

I love em all - glad to see a pxl 8 there. BD2 waza is a staple on my board, standard BD for compression on input for home playing, SD1W is great and my preferred tubescreamer style pedal. Just bought the OD3 as well !
@gypsysteve35762 жыл бұрын
BD seems to have a clearer voice, but i like to have something that can do the sweet blues crunch like these, but also drive into harder rock territory. Anything past about 7 on the BD looks to go to mush rather than usable crisp drive. Maybe SD pedals may go there?? ...short of going into a distortion pedal

I am obsessed by ODs, tried many of them, and the OD-3 is among my favourites. Why? Well, this video nailed i perfectlyt: it sounds organic. It is a real pity that Boss has not marketed yet a waza version.

Some great tones in these boxes, I love Boss so much. I currently run a BD-2 as an "always on" low gain type thing, cool to see the OD-3 would work well for that too. I like how the BD-2 plays with my other dirt boxes too (Rat-style distortion and a Muff-style fuzz, and also an HM-2 after my verb/delay for some weird shoegaze-y tones) but it'd be interesting to see how the OD-3 would pair with that setup. Also makes me wanna try more high gain stuff with the BD-2 lol

Man, the BD-2 beyond 2 o'clock turns into a monster 😂. And it cleans up beutifully with the guitar's volume. I got mine this year and I can't believe it took me so long to try this amazing pedal out.
@bongusdongus21372 ай бұрын
To me (at least through my phone speakers lmao) it seems like the OD-3 is both a bit more aggressive in its overall gain character and colors the tone a bit more, whereas the BD-2 is more “natural” or “transparent” and smooths things out in a really pleasing way when cranked. The BD-2 tone knob is also much more useable throughout its whole range, while the OD-3 has that classic BOSS tone knob that has a tight window between like 10 and 2 o clock, with either extreme either putting a blanket over your speaker or dropping a toilet full of bees on you. Both are very, very nice sounding pedals, but for me the BD-2 wins out, that smooth high gain sound is just perfect.

Strange Currencies... Such a great song. I had the pleasure of hearing it live. They rocked, Monster tour. Still, not quite as magic as the Green World Tour show I caught in Feb 1989 in New Zealand. Still have the poster...I was in High School. Couldn't shut up about REM for weeks lol! Currently putting together a weekend pedalboard, trying to choose between OD3 & BD2 (or both...but probably go the OD3 as it's kinda new to me). Excellent demo, as always. Love this channel!

Od3 for Blues and Bd2 for rock? Yes, the od3 sounds a bit darker and more textured, smoother on the high end and fatter at the low mids. That may blend well in the mix, for single coils it's all you need. I'd compare it to a british amp. For a bit more bite, I'd go for the blues driver, to get that fenderish sparkle. It must be great for indie rock and stuff like The Faces or The Stones.

Wouldn't mind owning both yet got neither (DS-1 & RAT & Ibanez 850 in da house). Contemplating OD-3,BD-2 and SD-1 or even a Maxxon?
@kosmicwizard2 жыл бұрын
Apparently these 2 are the same circuit, but the od3 just removed the clipping diodes from the bd2 circuit. Explains the harmonics and the lack of fizz at higher gain settings.

I love my Boss OD-3. The BD-2 is ok as well, but I prefer the OD-3. I use it as an always on pedal. I might goose it with a DS-1 or SD-1 depending on various factors.
The best Boss overdrive is neither the OD-3 or BD-2, or even the SD-1. It's the OD-2. Nothing can compare to the sweet tones that come out of that thing both with the turbo on and the turbo off. EDIT: At least, that's my opinion of course.

The boss Od-3 has the same problem as the fulltone OCD: gain unusable after 12/14 hours. Too much low end and it gets muddy. If I buy an overdrive I don't want to have these limitations, otherwise it all becomes really frustrating. Between the two, advisors the Boss Bd-2 Waza Craft made in Japan. You spend a little more but you have a killer overdrive on your pedalboard capable of covering almost all the sounds you need.
@waitin4winter8 ай бұрын
What do you mean by gain unusable after 12/14 hours?
@silviolutti15228 ай бұрын
@@waitin4winter I mean the position of the gain potentiometer. After about halfway, the low end increases too much. Same thing happens to fulltone OCD. These are overdrives to be used with little gain.
