Just crazy how small that set up is considering the sheer heft. Giving me jeff mills berlin vibes. What a tune that is

Been planning on getting the t8, in preparation this week I have been building an effects rack in Reason running rebirth into it and getting similar results to this with Reasons Pulveriser then using Reasons space echo to do transitions lots of fun

oh the T8 is my single favorite piece of gear. Its internal overdrive can create some good sound itself. One thought: if you're using external effects, pan the drums full left and the bass full right and then you can run separate effects on them :D

@@mylarmelodies Tech 21 Sans-amp on ANY drum machine melts face...AND not a bass FX persay, but the H90 "poly synth bass" algorithm turns any mono synth into a poly synth, which is particularly sick on a Sub37

Pedals are so underrated on synths. Love my TT-303 Bass Bot through a bunch of them, but my fave is the Electrofoods and Dirge RBMK.

EHX Bass Clone is another no-brainer for mono-synths without an on-board chorus. I kept it always on my BSii. The crossover feature is what makes it and it's like $60 used.

Been doing sort of similar with my T-8, S-1, J-6, but with tube distortion using a 1962 Raytheon long black plate 12AX7A in a tc electronic Tube Pilot. I'm also messing with the same, through a Pigtronix Resotron controlled by a synced Korg SQ-1, then into tube drive. Pretty wild, especially when heavy compression is used at the end, and really stunning with something sidechaned, giving some ducking.

@@mylarmelodiesFirst, I appologize for the long-windedness. I will consider making some quick and basic videos, just showing each combo's effects, for sure! I don't post much as you can see, and it's mostly poor phone captures, and in a very confined space. I had been messing around in a non-walk-in closet for a few years, until last year, while going through cancer treatment. But I am currently building a project studio in my spare bedroom, which will be ready to work in in the next month or two. I recently inherited a home from my late father, which I've been moving into slowely over the last year. I intend to finally post more professional sounding/looking content, after promising to for the last several years. I am still in the experimentation stage with these bits, but I'm starting to get some pretty great combinations, and routings. I've begun to use the Tube Pilot and the Resotron as auxed effects in a Xenyx 1002B. Using these two effects, each going into it's own synced stereo delay, (Currently, Hologram Microcosm after the Tube Pilot, and Zoia after the Resotron) then both groups returning to each's own stereo channel, where the two return channels are occasionally feed back into each other just over 25%, and each with a 3 band British style EQ. So much amazing stuff happens, even with so little note input in the AIRA's. Mind you, I'm not making hard acid. It's more minimalism. 🤷‍♂️😄

super... We read often that bass pedals are not that diffeent than the guitar ones. I am tempted to buy some of them from time to time but always stop at the last moment. This video triggered me ^_^ It's the "gain" knob that provided the "size" (fatness?) of the sound, no? Do you have a general idea about bass pedals used with synth voices?

I guess my conclusion is - Bass pedals are great on synths. After all, they make bass sounds. Here's a great recent vid with Skee Mask, and tellingly he raves about using a Zoom B3 on drum machine...the B3 is a bass pedal machine!!

I did something similar years ago by putting our drum machine through a rubbish amp and then turning the amp up as loud as it would go. Great sound but maybe wear ear defenders if you're going to do it yourself ... Permanent tinnitus isn't much fun.

@mylarmelodies
@mylarmelodies 19 күн бұрын
I’m not sure if there is but others may know better. Obvs there are pedal interfaces so you could just get hold of an ODB or similar. One mad distortion module I always loved is the Plague Bearer, absolute bonkers FSU module in this sort of vein, possibly more ridiculous.
@tychoclavius4818
@tychoclavius4818 18 күн бұрын
Overdrive circuits are pretty simple to make, and you can leave out the bypass part. Simple 4hp module to set and forget. Edit: if you find a guitar pedal schematic, try a few different sizes of capacitors to get a good bass response from it. I can't remember if you need smaller or larger ones.

Aceeeed!!! ODB-3 in a nutshell - absolutely fkn terrible on an actual bass, but surprisingly good on drum machines and synths. Another effects chain to try is a Proco RAT into a (Bass) Big Muff Pi or similar topology. I use an HX Stomp multi-fx to process my Digitakt and Volca Drum output, with the Stomp being sync'd via MIDI so delays etc are all locked to the same tempo. All of these combos sound massive when pushed through a proper bass amp stack and mic'd up. Gotta get some air movin' an' feel the room shake, brother....
