Again, great video. I figured out you use 2 guitars, but now I want to know if you have used the Singular Sound Aeros looper?

No. I haven’t. It is the one looper that does not interest me because of the way you build up the different parts. I prefer to have more control/more buttons to turn things on and off in multi mode . I did consider purchasing it at one point.. but I was put off by the UI. What do you think about it?

Nice one JP. I use the Nux Bumblebee too, but with the rc600 on the bottom. It is a bit fiddly reaching in to press the on/off button, so that would be another benefit of placing it on the top rack.

When I trialled it on the bottom I took away one of the top bars so the top was thinner.. but was able to access everything on the RC-600. That’s the good bit about the bumblebee.. it’s so customisable. 👍🏻

I have both the RC-600 and the TC Helicon Voicelive Touch 2 now. I was wondering if these can be sync'd together somehow? I like the effects in the TC Helicon. I believe you had one. Still use it?

Hey 👋 yes I did have one but sold it for the play acoustic. However, it does have MIDI and usb-b on the back. You should be able to sync them and the midi is a midi in so make the RC-600 the main controlling unit and the Touch 2 can follow along. 👍

Go for it!! I use 3M Dual lock. Think of it like Hard Velcro. I HATE normal Velcro. Alternative is tie wraps. Did that for years and the good thing is that you don’t wreck the pedal base. Downside is if you want to remove.

hiya Jp - love that you managed to power all your pedals with one PSU!! how did you overcome the voltage difference between the RC600 (9v) and TC helicon (12v)? i'd love to replicate this!

That’s the weird thing… erm.. it’s just works! I don’t know if that’s cause the Boss Power supply is very conservative and is actually supplying more.. but it is working and the unit doesn’t switch off or blow out of anything. All I would say is be careful. I’m no genius when I comes to voltages.. I’m fact I’m rubbish at all that! I’m probably doing something where an electrician would scream at me! 😂

I'm looking at purchasing the same pedal board AND copy your daisy chain idea as well. AND purchase the LEKATO wireless idea. I only have 2 other pedals, as well as the RC600. Hey 👋 So the board comes with Velcro tape - the good M3 lock hard stuff.. not the rubbish Velcro fabric stuff. By all means copy away! If you want my setup, I can break everything down for you including the wiring but I guess it would be different if you have different stuff. JP? Question. Where is the input of your guitar?how did you come out with different output of guitar and vocals going to RC 600? I'm a bit confused that way. :)

My guitar goes into the A/B switcher, from there the output of the A/B switcher goes into the TC-Helicon Voicelive play acoustic. Then that is XLR out for both vocals and guitar and I use short XLR connectors to go into the XLR’sof the RC-600. The Voicelive play has an option to have Voice/Guitar DI which means they come out of the XLR’s separately in mono. One input is the mic and the other is the guitar, both on XLR. Hope that makes sense.

Hey mate - how come you’ve sent the vocals and guitar via XLR to the RC-600, instead of using a 1/4 inch jack for the guitar into the Instrument 1 input? Did it lead to any initial problems setting up effects, etc.?

Hey. No, no issues. Reason is very simple to be honest, the first two inputs on the mixer are the XLR’s so it’s really quick and simple to see the inputs and also had some cool lovely short XLR cables that are low profile.

I’m running my vocals and acoustic guitar through the Boss VE-8 before sending the mono vocals and guitar into the RC-600 (much like you’re doing with the TC Helicon). However, I’m facing an issue whereby there’s a big difference between the vocal level and the guitar level (vocal is much louder). I don’t suppose you have any idea what might be causing this? I’m going to switch the guitar from 1/4 inch to XLR to see if that changes anything.

Certainly try the cable switch. Also, strange question. You don’t have 48v mic or a mic boost on the VE-8? Could be that (there is a mic boost on the TC)? Other than that, have a look at your cables and the volume inputs on the looper.

Does the led light indicators illuminate enough to glow the clear button cap’s enough? Or is it very minimal? Asking as I’m not sure if to go with clear for this reason go with metal ones. Thanks

Just to clarify, do you mean if it’s dark will the light bounce off the buttons? I personally think they are fine as they have a bit of glitter to them that I thought was a bit cheesy but actually useful. 🤣

JP just curious. I just got the RC 600 in hopes of really trying to consolidate my old RC 300 rig into one looper pedal. I've been gone from a looper pedal for a while using Ableton live both for live streams and gigs. Ableton is great for streaming from our studio but it is a complicated set up for gigs. You still use the TC Helicon Voice Play and I am just curious if that is because the vocal effects on the RC 600 (reverb, eq, compression, harmony) are not that good? As I am setting my new rig around the RC 600, just wondering if I should consider getting some additional vocal processing.

Hey 👋 So the main reason I keep the TC-Helicon VLP around is cause of the auto harmony feature. The RC-600 can only do harmonies by either setting the key or by midi. So if I play chords on my guitar, it does not recognise them like the VLP or Boss’ own VE-500. I also have dialled in a few effects that I like over the years with the VLP including body res for my acoustic guitar, a deep bass tone for my vocals and a few others. The effects on the RC-600 and 505mkii are excellent and I use them also. So I use both. 👍🏻

Yes is 100% is possible. Go to the track you want (let’s say track one is guitar only) click LOOP and select TRK 1. Then click the right button a few times until you come to inputs. (The last window). Now you can turn on and off the inputs you want and dont want track one to listen to. Hope that helps. 👍🏻

Whenever I enable Distortion effect the volume is like 3 times higher than no effect or a different effect. For example I am playing my electric guitar and I have the chorus effect enabled and the guitar is at an appropriate volume coming through my PA system. Then I enabled Distortion on top of Chorus and it’s 3x the volume way too loud. Or even if I disable Chorus and enabled Distortion it’s 3x too loud. So I could just turn the volume knob down when I switch but that’s not very efficient if you’re switching in the middle of a performance. Can you tell me the appropriate way to lower the output volume ONLY of the Distortion effect?

Certainly. Go into the effect and click the right arrow. You will see D.Level and E.Level. D = the volume of the DIRECT sound and E = the volume of the effect. I would be playing around with the D and the E and seeing how that makes a difference as it’s set to 100(full) by default. And the D is set to zero by default

hi john Paul ...thanks for your very informative videos ....i owned an RC 50 many years ago and ended up selling it in frustration ...if only youtube existed then ....i currently use a ditto x2 and it is very utilitarian and sounds great but limited in it's feature set so im toying with the idea of getting into the bigger loopers again . does this looper allow you make and switch between different song parts on the fly like the rc 50 did ? i seem to remember that you could step on the pedal for say the chorus or bridge and it would switch at the top of the next verse ......anyhow thanks for you super informate videos and i think boss should compesate you for your tutorials they are professional and top notch...cheers mate
