It sounds good if you keep the shimmer tone itself at a subtle position and only bring it out for a big ambient section in the song. I feel like worship guitarists are the ones who make it a big deal, though. It’s wonderful in moderation, but I also think it needs a lush chorus going into it to ensure it doesn’t sound like a harsh harmonizer pedal.

Les Harrison trust me, you definitely don’t! I can enjoy some shimmers, but as an effect, it’s kind of overrated. Lol.

If you plug into Input B it only outputs the reverb, I've found shimmer is useful that way for backing, but the standard mode is sort of one-trick imo

To my ears this one sounds every bit the equal to some more expensive units on the market. Don't ever count Boss out of the running, they've been doing this longer than anyone practically.

I bought one of these, sounds good in clean channel, but when i switch over to my high gain setting, with an OD pedal it sounds like shit. Am i doing something wrong ? ?

Do you use an effects loop? Otherwise it will sound wrong by going reverb into distortion.

Overdrive should go first in the chain if you're going into a clean amp sound, if using the amps overdrive, then it's better to go into the effects loop ➰
