I've been thinking about a new tremolo, want something unique, and think this might be it. Fantastic demo of all the modes! It sounds like you can do some sounds similar to the standard TR-2 Boss tremolo, but since it's stereo can it do PN-2 pan-type sounds?

Thanks! It can definitely nail the TR-2 sound in its Tremolo mode and I've never heard a PN-2 but this things has seven stereo output modes: Fixed, EFX/Direct, Random, Ping-Pong, Auto, 3D Cross, and 3D Rotation so maybe one of those will do the trick

Can you add your own patterns with the software?

As far as I know you can only change and tweak the existing ones a little but can't create your own patterns from scratch

@pedalstacking found a KZbin video. Someone made a program which will let you add your own patterns. It's not an official Boss program so there is a potential risk.

Old slicer had a option to turn on effect only while pressed. Does this one have something similar?

Yes, it does. You can assign different functions to the footswitch, momentary switching is one of them. You can also assign these functions to an external footswitch.

is this the same as sl-20 ? is there any thing missing ? in terms of sounds and stuff

It's the compact version of the SL-20. Not really sure if there's anything missing in terms of sounds but this little box is packed with different modes and variations and you can access a ton more in the Boss Tone Studio if you plug this to a computer. No option to create your own patterns yet but that would be really cool on an update 🤞 This newer version has the ability to control speed though an expression pedal (SL-20 couldn't) Max input level is a little higher on the SL-2 giving it a bit more headroom and it needs less mA to work than its bigger brother

@@pedalstacking thank you sir, I think It was a comment of a reviewer who used them both but yeah maybe he's wrong about it, since the second hand SL-20 slicer is really expensive I think Its wise for me to go for the SL-2 with some cool added features that are new

It does, you can use the footswitch or an external tap tempo as well
