Hi austin, how are you? I want to buy a boss sy-300 and use it in my pedalboard with others pedals, but i have one big question: When you turn that pedal on, the bank returns to the first effect of sy-300 or it remains at the effect that you were using before turning off? Hope you can help me, thanks!!

Austin, really great video.... I am a Chapman Stick player, and am interested in possibly getting one of these units. I have the new line6 Helix, and thought this would be a nice addition. I am interested in seeing if the unit will produce some "Joe Zawinul" type lead lines (Prophet, Arp 2600). Do you think this unit would come close to those sounds. thanks again!

Hi Austin thanks for the reply I have put the sy 300 into the effect loop on the GT 100 experimented on some of my GT 100 patches and it's sounding pretty good so far I tried the midi but I didn't quite get what I wanted !!!!! great instructional video I am still tweaking and learning the sy 300 I am trying to create a piano sound any ideas on that or is it even possible ? Thanks !!!!

Great video, Austin! I just got this amazing pedal, and your video really helps tweak the parameters. Only problem I've been having is with the Boss Tone Studio freezing up each time I use it. Have you been experiencing problems with the program?

I have not experienced this problem with tone studio but try reinstalling the driver and tone studio. This could possibly fix any bugs that could occur in the downloading process.

depends on what you want to do with both units. you can midi sync both and have them share patches. you could run the GT in the EFX Loop of the SY and vice versa. Endless possibilities.

So it's paraphonic? No individual filters per voice, just a single global filter and envelope?

It sounds great and the fact that one can play it with any standard electic guitar without the synth controller hexa pickup needed for other Roland synths, is indeed very convenient feature. But they did not put some sample sounds, like piano, vibraphone, flute, sax, violin, chello, etc in it. And that is minus as fas as I am concerned.
