Btw this looks like a veeeeery clever box that offers all the possible features one can ask for. Hello, thanks for the video, i got a quite dumb question but what means the fact that it's "only" 30 watts output ? i am thinking to switch from torpedo X to that, but 30w may be not enough for concert or reharsle ? Or am i mistaken ? i connect the Torpedo to the mix table that is connected to the FOH. Thanks a lot :)

Hi, so the 30w power is only interesting, if you are planning on using the guitar cabinet. If you want to use this like you do with the Captor X (so straight into the mixer) you'll have the same line level signal with both. This is how the BOSS TAE Core works: it takes the amplified signal of your tube amp and swallows it completely (up until 100w amp power). Then the signal goes through the TAE's FX loop in case you want to use pedals with amps that don't have a loop. Then the signal leaves it through the line outs and through the "to speaker" output which uses the built-in 30w power amp to re-amplify the signal which then goes into your guitar cabinet. You can also use the TAE Core silently and don't use a cabinet at all, in that case you just use the line outs. 30w can be a little too quiet depending on the band and on the size of the stage. If you're very loud and / or play huge venues maybe go for the big TAE or stick to the Captor X. Cheers //kris

@ hey thanks for your detailed answer 🙏 ! Basically I only use my guitare cab at home , when we reharsle or do concert I plug the captor x directly in the mixing table that go to FOH and I handle the volume in the mixing table. So if I understand correctly the 30w power amp won’t be a problem right ? It only come into action if I ever want to play live on a guitar cab right ? So if I understood correctly that could work for me ! Any opinion if the boss reactive load box (with 3rd party or) is better than the torpedo x ?

What is the attenuation range? -20db max? -32db max?

I am pretty sure it goes all the way to 'no sound at all', although if you are playing into a cabinet, you will want the speaker to have some movement. A 4x12 is not going to sound great at whisper volumes, no matter what kind of attenuator you are using.
