Hello all. I am the one who developed this mod. There is no video for this mod, not by me anyways. The mod is strait forward and if the instructions are followed paying attention to noted details it will work perfectly. It is important to note that good soldering skills are required. The solder points are in close proximity of other components so you need to take care and pay attention where your tip is at all times. Use a fine point tip if possible and don't stay on the solder point any longer than necessary with the heat. There is 3 wires to solder. If you want this function and don't feel comfortable doing this mod, Boss just released the Katana Go Headphone Amp. It's only $119 US and has line out like this mod gives you, and usb recording. The app is also somewhat improved and gives you other features the Waza Air doesn't offer. I have both and I can honestly say they both sound reeeeeeealy good. If you want to do the mod and have any questions, just go to the VGuitar link above in description and we'll be glad to help any way we can. Incidentally, If you have the Waza Air headphones, a Fender lunch box and some foam padding make a great carry case ;)

Hey man, besides the output mod, do you think a line input mod is doable with what you saw inside the headphones? So the opposite, feed from aux out into the headphones to make them wired when desired.
@DaddyRockStudio
@DaddyRockStudio 2 ай бұрын
@@krmr since the output Jack is connected directly to the output to the headphones speakers, theoretically it should work. Just make sure the power is off on the headphones and connecting a line input to connect directly to the speakers. I don't know what the speaker impedance would be so that might be a crapshoot but theoretically it should work. Again just make sure the headphones power is off

That’s awesome, like you I got the WAZA headset so my poor wife didn’t have to listen to me play my guitar all the time😂😂👍🏿, however; as soon as I got the headset my next thought was I want to record so I can listen back to how much I suck at guitar lol And it looks like I’m not the only one Boss needs to put this feature in them already, doing it this weekend .. us shredders helping each other is awesome✌🏽✌️

@Th3Mandrill
@Th3Mandrill 28 күн бұрын
Use a second device like an iPad or a laptop to play the backing track through Bluetooth. Usually I use an iPad with the Waza Air app and Spotify, Guitar Pro, controlling everything from there. And then the phone just for filming & recording.

That is exactly what I’ve been wanting to do, but I’m not confident enough in my knowledge of the circuitry to in the latest technology. If you could possibly afford the time to just open yours and take a snap shot of the soldering points it would really help me a lot. Am I right in thinking you’ll need to play this through a full spectrum amplifier, eg a keyboard or acoustic amp? Otherwise wouldn’t you get additional compression etc from a standard guitar amp which would potentially adversely affect the sound you’d expect to hear? Effectively the headphones are full spectrum range to provide the range and complexity of sound required. Really excellent idea by the way.

Hi, thanks for the sharing your mod. One question though, my understanding is that the mic transmitter you are using is mono. How are you getting stereo recording? Thanks a lot.
@Th3Mandrill
@Th3Mandrill Жыл бұрын
It's only mono unfortunately. If you want to record stereo you could use a splitter and two transmitters or a stereo cable directly to your recording device. The DJI Mic only has mono output through the Lightning port but can output stereo to through 3.5 mm.

I ordered the WAZA Air phones. Like you, I want to record, or at least loop a chord progression to practice soloing over, I’m surprised there’s no looper already incorporated. I will do the mod, and pair the headphones with the boss fs-1-wl which will be used to trigger record, stop and play. Anyone have suggestions for an iOS phone recording app? I found a solution. I use two cheap Bluetooth transmitters/receivers. They have stereo minijack plug. One is set in transmitter mode, the other one in receiver and they are paired together. They are small, light (size of an usb stick). Sound quality is good. The only problem is a delay, but I use it for recording, so it doesn't matter. They cost 10EUR each.
