I like how it almost sounds like the Bari Sax/ player is bored and goofing off while the other three try to keep it in line, wrangling it back in occasionally. At least, thats what I hear.

Love it! 🎷🎷🎷🎷 Nicely crafted arrangement, and of course you would have a wonderful actual instruments version to hear it (ie., not a lifeless MIDI playback). 🙂 I may have to pick up this arrangement from you in the near future.

@@matclasensaxit's a really cool piece! can you make a piano reduction out of it? I'd like to play it, and I ain't playin no sax. If you did it in Sibelius or Finale or any other program it should be relatively easy to make the piano reduction.... Thanks in advance

You might try to make the alto and tenor part more interesting. Seems like they would fall asleep.
@matclasensax Жыл бұрын
Hey Radjammin, thanks for listening to the tune and for your comment! I understand your point. Nonetheless I would like to point out, that this arrangement of Green Bossa is written as a soprano saxophone feature. Other songs I wrote may and do feature other players or distribute the melodies more evenly amongst the ensemble. I don‘t understand, though, why one would fall asleep, being part of a group playing music. Every part is equally important and one should put every bit of focus and meaning into every note being played, no matter if it makes the player shine or his or her colleagues. I recorded all the saxophones in this video and I didn‘t get bored. I find the alto and tenor sax parts challenging to play groovy, easy, expressive and softly at the same time. Having meaning yet not standing in the way of the melody. That needed all of my concentration, no room for boredom. If I get bored playing music, I have to change my mindset or do something else with my life. Playing in an ensemble is never about one person. Either all of you sound great or all of you sound asleep, there is nothing inbetween!
