Thanks! Never really been a fan of the full sports bikes as I use my bike for commuting too. The XR ticks all the boxes! Ride safe.

Only problem with this bike is it doesn’t come with lower suspension option like the GS. This is why I chose the GS instead although I don’t go off-road that much with it.
@BossBikesClub
@BossBikesClub 6 жыл бұрын
It does have semi-adaptive suspension which can be raised and lowered depending on your activities, which is helpful. Thanks for watching!

Boss Bikes Club Thanks for the reply. I’m 30” inseam and I found a difficulty riding the bike and had my foot on the ground. The option you are talking about is Dynamic ESA also available in GS.

Can you elaborate on the wind protection, especially in terms of buffeting?
@BossBikesClub
@BossBikesClub 8 жыл бұрын
Compared to other BMWs, specifically the K16s and RTs, the XR does not have the same wind protection. But the XR does break the wind from your body and makes it comfortable to ride at speed on open roads. There is no unexpected buffeting, beyond what you would expect around a smallish screen.

Great Review. Only one question: is the regular seat good for a person like me who is 178 cm tall? Cause when I jump on I feel like I miss a couple of cm to confortably touch the ground.
@BossBikesClub

Hi Antonio. Thanks for the compliment! I'm 1.81m and didn't struggle with its height...however, it is not a low bike and if you really only feel comfortable having your feet 'planted', you should ask for a lower seat height.

Funnily, having felt the same over the two year since we reviewed, we've just bought a 2018 S1000XR and it's a complete blast, Great bike, with some significant improvements over the last couple of years, not least being a much easier clutch and a brilliant up AND down quick-shift. Take a look around our other reviews and subscribe! :)

I thought it was a good review except for one big miss. You made a big deal over the fact that the XR has more power than the GS, but you did not tell the viewers that they are practically the same 0 -60mph: 2.8 vs 2.9. It's only after that that the XR pulls away the quarter mile is 10.2 vs 11.1 I don't own either one but I believe in fair reporting, and relevant reviewing.

Thanks for watching! We've ridden and owned both and whatever the statistics are, the XR is a much faster bike. Its lighter weight, greater nimbleness and more extreme engine give it a completely different, more accelerative nature. Both brilliant, but the XR is without doubt a much faster bike to ride!
@31acruz
@31acruz 6 жыл бұрын
@@BossBikesClub again, its faster after 60 miles per hour. You can say it "feels" faster before 60, but you can not state facts that are not true, its misleading. By the way, this are not "statistics", these are the bikes specs from the manufacturer who makes both. You should put a qualifier such us: "although the bikes are spec'd practically the same to sixty at least, the XR felt much faster to me", that way you are true to yourself and what you experienced and stick to facts at the same time. My M5 is faster to sixty then my previous M3, but it doesn't feel that way to me because of various reasons, so it does happen.

@@31acruz you can keep going this way, in which case, I think you might prefer reading reviews with dynometer and other physical factors. The truth is perception is reality. We sense and discern as human beings, we don't measure. So, the XR is faster. Because of its weight, nimbleness, acceleration, noise, posture, size, stoppability, shape of power delivery, and general sense of disgruntled impatience to get a move on. The GS is, by comparison, calm. Our reviews focus on the feel of bikes, and how they make you feel. And they'll remain doing that. Thanks

@@BossBikesClub Man, don't get into all the statistics thing, please! I watch your reviews to get away from all that shit. What does a bike feel like that's what I want to know. no one cares about a millisecond. Geez!
@31acruz
@31acruz 6 жыл бұрын
@@BossBikesClub Perception is not reality, that's why its called perception and not reality. You can certainly state it feels faster for the reasons you noted, perfectly reasonable. But to mislead potential buyers who later find out 0 -60 they are the same is sneaky and irresponsible. Seems to me you are potentially playing with their money people will spend and making yourself judge in their lives. I am glad you review how bikes feel, I hope you don't stop. I personally think reviews that focus on feel rather then actual specs are more beneficial, more power to you. But do so responsibly, and asking to add a simple quick disclaimer I don't think it's asking too much. Learn when someone is trying to do you a favor and improve your videos, just say thank you for the advice and leave it at that.
