I completely agree with leaking elixir. Especially with defensive deck like splashyard if your up just one or two elixir you might be better of waiting your opponent to make a play especially if the matchup become better for you as time goes on.

i read this thread when it came out and it has helped me a lot. Another tip id say is pick a deck and get really good at it. Itll help you understand high level game mechanics better and you can then apply that to other decks. Also, play GCs if you have the gems, theres always really good players in them, and if you play people who are better than you, you'll improve. Iron sharpens iron.

Great vid. Would love to see more like this. Some more detailed/advanced tips would be really cool as well. For example, I’d like some tips for knowing when it’s safe to rocket the tower during a match. I’ll see Ryley do it with logbait vs XBOW whenever the XBOW is out of cycle/ you defend without a rocket. But Idk if that’s a generalizable rule or specific to that matchup. Also, still think you’d be really good at viewer replay reviews. (((And it would be super easy to make those vids as well))) Thanks for the enjoyable vids as always
@sztrlb123 Жыл бұрын
Ryley does that in 3x because in 3x you can easily defend xbow and rocket the tower. Otherwise if not xbow, you think you can defend opponent cheaply or their win condition is out of cycle and you have control over map (have troops like princess on map) , just rocket.

I went on a 26 game win streak. Now I’m like 3-68 after that. When I win a match it feels like the cubs won the World Series. I play defense first, build pushes off the defense, but they have a counter for every single win condition I have and they always have plenty of elixir to easily defend without taking any damage and then their push I can rarely defend after I’ve made one push
@youngfigaro2 жыл бұрын
Another good tip is fixing your cycle. I play icebow a lot and often I find myself stuck in a bad cycle (so that I cant defend stuff as good as I could), and when I can, I often make some weird plays to fix up my cycle. Like for example, I once played a rocket on a goblin barrel, which seemed really dumb, but i was up elixir and it helped my cycle better (as i was getting seriously out cycled).
@shlimey042 жыл бұрын
Wtf rocketing a goblin barrel, couldn't you just place anything else on it, that's like the worse possible choice
@ThatguyCR2 жыл бұрын
U could play valk full counter the barrel or ice wizard + skellys to defend goblin barrel. Its normally not a good idea to rocket a goblin varrel

boss I'd like to say something about the 5th tip surg said. sometimes in certain scenarios as a bait player, placing down troops instead of defending w a spell could actually cost me the game. ok so log bait id say thats one of the few decks along with some other cycle decks where spelling some of there offense would be better because I can't get as much damage as my opponent with my win condition seeing as a goblin barrel can easily be countered with a spell or you can ignore and it'll do maximum 1k damage unlike a hog rider or royal hogs which can take more than half of your tower. like I can't just defend with a valk or knight gang when all my opponent has to do is spell it (unless they overcommitted obviously)

Just keep watching videos and think how the interactions would change if he placed them in a different spot. Dor example if he places valk in the middle of the arena look at how the 2 towers will help defend instead of just one.
@franky15172 жыл бұрын
@@ThatguyCR Yeah it's hard to imagine what would be different from another spot. I always try to understand why placing the card in the back, not at bridge, why switching lanes at this point, etc, etc. I could try to guess but I am not sure that's the right answer. Most creators don't provide this critical "why" elements.
@ThatguyCR2 жыл бұрын
@@franky1517 yes i understand that. I watch a lot of clash royale videos but every once in a while i will learn so little detail like that. For example watch players like ryley, ian, and eragon. They will explain little things sometimes like eragon plays xbow so he will go against royal hogs earth quale and he will switch to the opposite lane. He might tell u why he did that but if not what i recommend is asking yourself why did he switch lanes and then u will be able to tell after a bit that if he goes same lane against earth quake hhis oppentn will be able to get tower damage when defnending his xbow. It just takes time and u will get it eventually. I hope this helps and i will be happy to answer and more questions you have!

start watching starlight! by far the best splashyard player. i one trick a deck with a similar elixir avg so i would say make sure u know what defense they have in hand so u know when to attack. splashyard is a more defensive deck so keep that in mind. most of the time u want to push in double elixir. let’s say they have a mega minion in hand. of course u won’t go in because ur baby dragon will just get shredded and then ur tank is gone for ur graveyard. also knowing what combos work in which matches is important. some matches u may want to skelly king graveyard instead of bby dragon graveyard, etc. i didn’t start card counting/elixir counting until i hit 7.3k so i would say that will come but u first need to naturally learn how to beat certain matchups and the best combos of ur deck

A good vid to make following up with this one would be showing tips on how to place 2 cards at the same time, examples being hog and ice golem, or hog and musk with the musk going down in front and being pushed by the hog to get damage on the tower or a building, how to place rocket and gob barrel so the rocket masks the barrel, things like that. You could also show tips on to improve in draft, and other modes, and one that I think a lot could improve on is 2v2...I really think players don't know they have the ability to see their partners cards in hand, or that purposely spelling the king tower is bad 😂. Simple things like this would actually improve their playing abilities as a team.

Thanks for sharing the tips. I definitely don't agree with the never leaking elixir tip. If you're ahead by one elixir, for example, and your opponent can counter any card you play, and you can counter any card your opponent plays, then it would be better to leak elixir until your opponent plays a card. Also, re quick fingers, sometimes you can be too quick, especially with spells, and slightly misplace them. When I watch carl or morten play, they actually take their time to get a good placement, and even seem to play cards/spells more slowly than I do. Also, when I take a little more time to play certain cards, sometimes I realize I don't really need to play them. So, having quick fingers can help, but slowing down for proper placement helps as well. Good tips re watching the game on a 2nd device for counting elixir. I myself have never tried that, but I've heard of others doing that. I personally prefer not to do that, as I feel that might turn off elixir counting in my brain.
