Not Kira how do? Cuphead and mugman are now the devil’s slaves, spending an eternity in hell, all of inkwell isle’s residents are now dead and serving the devil (expect for a couple NPC’s). Elder kettle is worried sick about the boys wondering if they ever made it out alive. making their entire journey completely useless. And the two children are now stuck in a life of eternal servitude for something that they were avoiding this entire time.

I like how this is an actual bad ending. In most games, the final boss is defeated, things are kinda shitty for the main characters, but they still go on with their lives. Not only has the title of the game warned you not to deal with the devil, but Elder Kettle tells you to turn the tables right as you enter the second part of Inkwell Isle. The No option is also selected by default and you have to select Yes. It’s no surprise the Devil turns you into his lackeys.

There is a little Easter egg that if you do the ending and skip through the credits, and it sends you back to the title screen but if you listen closely, the music is in reverse which is the most creepiest thing ever for a very hard old school cartoon game

This is my canon ending. I didn't feel like getting my ass kicked by the devil after spending close to an hour getting my ass kicked my King Dice, so fuck it. I turned over all my souls--giving purpose to my journey--and joined the devil to gain invincible demon powers all while saving my own soul. Plus, I have my other Mugman buddy with me, so if any other do-gooders comes along, we'll work together to fuck their shit up. That is my canon ending and I am 100% sticking to it.

Nowadays, bad endings have become rather lame. Most of them just feel like a choice in the endgame instead of not fulfilling certain conditions. But that's just my personal opinion.

JRPGs are perhaps a bad example, since choices there usually don't matter one bit anyway, but yeah - this trick has been present in gaming for ages. One game like that I remember particularly well from my childhood is Wizards and Warriors 3, but there are many more games which punish you for changing sides at the end.

the thing that makes this ending far scarier is that earlier in the game elder kettle tells cuphead and mugman that with each new battle they endure and as they gain more victories and obtain new abilities they will progressively become more and more powerful over time to the point to where they will eventually be able to take in not just king dice but also the devil himself which is prooven to be true by the good ending in which they we're able to defeat him in a physical battle which technically just mean that in this ending the devil is now working with beings that are actually more powerful then him who knows what kind of damage these two could possibly do now that they are evil now

When I got the bad ending for myself, I watched all the credits. When it returned to the main menu, the main theme was reversed. Not sure if this was intentional, but nobody's written about it yet.

Yes, if you do choose the bad ending, the credits will roll while playing a depressing music. Once you go to the main title screen, the main theme will indeed be in reverse since you choose to join the Devil instead of freeing everyone from his debt. So, pretty much there is no hope.. No escape... For everyone in Inkwell Island... Which is very sad... Until you go back, do the right thing by defeating the devil and free everyone.

I guess the reason why his looks changed is because he got converted to a demon or something, kinda like how sometimes when a character turns evil, their eyes suddenly turn red for no reason, or their skin turns pitch black for no reason. I don't know. It's just a way of showing his turn to the dark side, by changing his design to represent his dark side. His colors and looks changed by the magic of the devil and evil.
