ideas i would like to share to reduce Violations: 1.)Cameras at every Traffic signal should be Commissioned.Cameras must be focused in a way so it can zoom the vehicle number plates jumping the Signals and immediately the Owners should be sent with fines/Notices.Within a week of sending out Notice, Fines should automatically be deducted from a Linked Bank Account While Vehicle is being Registered incase the Violator doesn't pay the fine or does not action on the notice issued. 2) License should be issued only if the applicant for license passes a written test along with passing the requisite driving test. 3.)Bribes being taken by RTO's should be carefully dealt with by securing Cameras at every License testing points and Sufficient Cameras should be commissioned at every RTO and monitored judiciously. 4.)Issue of Licenses must go properly scrutinizing the drivers capabilities. 5.)Vehicles that does not meet the norms must be scrapped and not allowed on Roads. 6.)Pedestrians must be heavily fined when they do not follow rules.No shops should be allowed on Pavements. 7.)All Roads must be closed on the middle with adequately leveled medians so the pedestrians cannot cross roads and only cross the road using Walkovers/ Signals when they are supposed to walk i.e when Green man is indicated. 8.)Government should see to it that Policemen are adequately paid so that they don't take bribes since most policemen justify their bribe collections since they are not able to meet the livelihood with the pittance of salary they receive. 9.)Drivers of Government buses do not follow rules ,every offending driver must be punished by making them to forego their one day salary if they made an offence on a single day. 10.)More Public transport must be introduced and government should impose very high Running cost of Private Vehicles ,Eg: In Singapore Vehicle Costs are so high that an average middle class guy is forced to use the public transport.This will reduce the traffic congestion.This rule should be applicable for 2 wheelers as well. 11.)Three wheel Auto-Rickshawas should be banned ,instead can be allowed to ply Share-Taxi models more legally and increased numbers on all routes. .Hope this makes sense,Countering these points are most welcome.

1.I was thinking no Horns in Any vehicles.So no noise pollution 2.More public transport and cheap tickets or monthly passes.This will reduce number of vehicles on road. 3.Just like family planning...Vehicle planning...one car and one bike per house.Rest all take public transport. 4.More strict education on traffic rules. 5.Overhaul the whole system of traffic right from issusing lience to buying vehicles.

I appreciate one of very fundemental social issue being discussed but unfortunately as Neelu rightly said we cannot engage Police for every Citizen violating the rules, the sense of discipline should be inculcated hard and nice among the children at an early age, moreover heavy fines should be imposed , Policemen taking bribes in pittance also is a very big factor in precipitating the rule violations, i think Part -2 of this episode is very much required and on an increased duration of say around 40+ minutes.Please consider.Thanks
