I rebuke this in the name of Jesus! There were many points were I feared the movie was going to end, so I was happy it kept going… until the end :/ Sam’s character lacks a redemption arc. If the movie ended after Frederick cooking, it would’ve been disappointing. One measly dinner is nothing compared to years of cheating… I was scared the wife would stay with him, so I was relieved when she eventually plotted a way out by pretending to cheat. That was childish, but the worst thing she did was leaving Pascal alone with the four men who wanted to fight after… If the film ended there, it would’ve been ok, but the movie kept going… For the wife, her friend, and Pascal to kidnap one of the mistresses was psycho at best. To rub pepper in her orifices was demonic. To have Pascal, the meek and humble character who should be adamantly against this injustice, commit this act with absolute glee on his face was demonic. I feared it would end in a rape scene, or the lady getting run over. While the girl should not have messed with a married man, the fact that she was essentially abused while Fredrick the ex husband who did the cheating is…fine… was just appalling. The biggest shock was how these character infer God and being “blessed” while allowing Satan to overtake them in that last scene was unsettling. Thanks for reading.
