Bosstiary - Essence of Malice

In this video I will show you how to gain access to and kill Essence of Malice from The Cults of Tibia Quest. This boss is found in the Carlin Graveyard. You'll need Bone Key 3520 which can be found in a chest within a building just North of Carlin boat.
To gain access to the boss there are two barriers you must pass. Killing Cult Believers and Cult Enforcers will leave green and blue vortexes on the ground. The green ones are Remains of a Decaying Soul while the blue ones are Remains of a Withering Soul. Stepping on these before they disappear will allow you to collect them. You must collect 10 of the green souls to pass the first barrier in the Northern part of this first floor. Once you pass the barrier, go down the stairs, and head to the South West you will find a second barrier. You must have collected 10 of the blue souls to pass this barrier. This only has to be done the first time you gain access. Once you've past the second barrier and go down the stairs you can find the gate to the boss in the middle room.
This boss can be solo'd but having at least a small team will make things go a lot more smoothly. During the first phase there are 5 pillars spread around the room each with a special ability. Destroying the pillar will release the mini boss that stands next to it and prevent its special abilities. Starting in the South West it is the Pillar of Draining which does a lot of mana drain. The North West pillar is the Pillar of Summoning which will summon Dread Minions. The Northern pillar is the Pillar of Death which will deal death damage to anybody in the room. North East is the Pillar of Protection which deals life drain damage. Finally, The South East pillar is the Pillar of Healing which can heal the other Pillars.
I recommend taking out the Pillar of Summoning first to limit the number of Dread Minions followed by the Pillar of Draining to help prevent any mana issues. After that I usually will do the Pillar of Death then continue around the room clock wise. You can free the mini bosses and kill them one at a time but it will save you time if you free them all and kill them at the same time. They do have a lot of health so it can take a while to kill them. Also, you should be aware that druid's mass healing will also heal these mini bosses so they will not want to use it.
Once all 5 mini bosses are defeated the Essence of Malice will spawn. The Essence of Malice doesn't do too much damage with a max combo of around 1000 damage. The boss is immune to death damage but does take damage by being healed. Mages will definitely want to use UHs on this boss to deal a lot of damage or mass heal as a Druid. Even as a Paladin, UHs can be on par with or better than sharpshooting I find unless you have gone the exori gran con route in the skill wheel.
The Essence of Malice is in the Archfoe category which means you will get 100 boss points total for 60 kills.

For what it's worth, I can confirm the Shield of Corruption drop. One of my party got one some time ago.

Ok, good to know. Similar to The Souldespoiler then. Someone on that video mentioned getting the shield as well. From what I've seen on the internet no one has every really confirmed it. Probably a few more have been looted since the bosstiary!
